About

Church
*Please visit the temple website for open hours and appointments.* Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

A phenomenally beautiful temple that differs in architecture from almost all other temples. The grounds are immaculately kept and there is plenty of space to sit outside the temple and feel the peace and love that the Savior gives.

I just moved to Utah from Florida and there's such a an abundance of temples! Provo City Temple is my favorite. The colors are warm inside and out. There's a winding staircase that looks like a red oak and the wood is fluid throughout the temple. It's kind of like a colonial style with the winding staircase and layout In the spring, the grounds are full of flowers and plants with a vast variety of colors . I love the Pavilion that has a more than life sized statue of the Christus. You should go and enjoy the view, a walk and peace on this sacred grounds of the temple which are Holy grounds. Maybe just maybe you could sit on the grounds and ponder on if this be a house of the Lord. It's worth considering! At the least, take in the beauty and peace 🕊️

This temple is BEAUTIFUL to look at. However, the lack of reverence astounds me. Many people attend the temple to have a spiritual experience or to talk with God and find answers. But the people speaking at full volume everywhere- including temple workers AND the temple presidency- is just baffling. I come from an area where temples are sacred, peaceful places and the people there act as such. Not talking about things that should be brought up at ward council meetings or church activities. It's not a social place- there are spaces to do that outside the temple.
