  We had a positive experience initially, but the quality of care has noticeably declined following recent staff turnover. Supervision has become a serious concern—on multiple occasions, we found our child covered in chalk, and today we witnessed him eating chalk in the classroom without any staff intervention. The consistent lack of regular or familiar teachers has impacted the classroom environment, and we hope management addresses these safety and staffing issues quickly.

  UPDATES: I got a call from Michelle today and we had a good talk. I accepted her apology. We all have our bad days not knowing each other's context. I'm glad the issue has been taken care of and the security team has been notified the same day I reported it. Sincerely I wish the center continue to do better all the time and we all have a safe environment for our kids and everyone. This morning I and my two kids took elevator to the center from garage. The elevator suddenly dropped for a second then stuck. I pressed all the buttons in the elevator and finally the door opened and we all rushed out. My kids were so scared. I also felt quite a lot pressures on my lower back. After sent in my kids to their classrooms and mentioned this, all teachers I've been interacted with expressed empathy and asked if we were ok. Then when I back to the lobby and mentioned it to the director Michelle and assistant director Karina. Not even before I finished about what happened to me and my kids. Michelle just interrupted me saying "We are not in charge of the elevators" Did I say you are in charge with? I was just saying this just happened and if you have the contact of the building management let them know. The assistant director wanted to help saying she could contact and Michelle just jumped in again saying the contact was recently changed or something. Why keep jumping in and ruining this conversation when I was talking to the assistant director and not even talking to you? Karina then tried to save the conversation again saying she could just contact security to let them know. On my way out Michelle again couldn't stop herself saying it could be the weather. So cold weather causes an indoor elevator drops and kills people inside? I don't care what the reason is and you are not the expert. When I brought this to you I just want to bring your attention to notify the building people and maybe at least show some your empathy (if you have) like all those teachers and other parents in the classroom did? Kids and I just experienced a very scary moment and this was the response from the leadership?

  Our daughter has attended here since they opened. We have always loved the space and staff. After returning from the months long break during the beginning of the COVID lockdown, we could not be happier with the additional precautions they are taking. In addition to normal COVID risks, I’m also a cancer patient with significant pre-existing risk conditions. The protocols Bright Horizons has put in place has exceeded our expectations, which in turn give us a necessary comfort for our daughter & our entire family. Thanks Melissa and the entire BH team! 👏🏼

  I'm excited to see that a new Bright Horizons center is opening in Kirkland! Kirkland is a central location for the east side of the Seattle metro area, with easy access to Bellevue, Seattle, and minutes away from surrounding cities.  Being in the Urban Plaza allows easy access in and out of the city of Kirkland. I'm currently a parent of a toddler at the Bothell center and can say that working with Melissa, the new center's director has been a great pleasure. This year I've gotten to know Melissa a lot better while working with her in the family parent partnership group. Melissa is a great leader that fosters an awesome work environment for all the staff and that shows when it comes to the care of the kiddos. Happy energized teachers and support staff is really felt by the children. It's always a communal learning and nurturing environment for the children, staff, and even parents.  As a first-time parent, she's given me great tips about being a parent with a child in daycare and taking what my child's doing and learning at the center to the home environment. I'm also super excited about Joelle being the assistant director at the Urban Plaza, Kirkland. Joelle was one of the infant teachers for my kiddo and she's just amazing with the kids, and even more so with parents that come asking loads of questions and want to know everything that happened during the day. I'm more than confident Joelle will bring that brightly brilliant work ethic to being a leader at the new center. Overall this is an awesome leadership team!
