  This review covers our experience over the past four years. My in-laws spent the initial years in assisted living, which was generally quite good. Medication errors occurred occasionally, but overall the situation remained positive. The issues intensified when my mother-in-law moved to memory care. That unit is a different matter entirely. The staff running memory care seem condescending and unprofessional, and they should not be employed there. We raised these concerns many times with senior management, yet little changed. Overall, I would strongly consider another option because this place overcharges, alters terms without notice, and is poorly managed. The facility is beautiful—do not misunderstand—but other sites are equally attractive, cost less, and provide superior care.

  Both my mother and father in law moved into Waltonwood AL after being in another assisted living facility over three years ago and all of us have been extremely happy. My MIL suffered a stroke over 4 years ago and the staff have been extremely helpful to her in her many needs as she goes through her different phases. My FIL is now declining and the staff have stepped up his level of care in a most efficient, caring and personal manner. We have been able to call and/or email the staff and always receive a prompt response to our questions or concern and a resolution is typically forthcoming in a day or so if not hours depending on the situation. Before the pandemic, we would dine with them in the dining room at least once a month and were very impressed with the menu and quality of food and wine! There is always something to do at WW. Movies, games, workout room, trivia. The wellness coordinator is fantastic. The facility is always very clean and the staff and healthcare workers are very cognizant of wearing masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. My husband and I HIGHLY recommend Waltonwood AL to your loved one in need of an assisted living facility.
