I have a HUGE issue with what you seem to be teaching young adults in your church as door to door missionaries. My neighbors have young kids that were just out back playing soccer with no adults. Your missionaries found it appropriate to not only approach kids in their own back yard off the street without their parents with them to talk about your church and conversion, but went on to ask these young children a whole bunch of personal questions like how many people live here? What religion do you believe in? Where you are from? What hours do your parents work? WHAT IS THIS. EW. Then they proceed to try to be “cool” and befriend the kids, pulling up videos on their phone and continuing although the children have now said TWICE our parents aren’t home.
When I intervened? Said excuse me but this is really inappropriate to be doing without their parents as strangers on the street? One of these missionaries had the audacity to try to ignore me entirely and ask the oldest son how old he is, as if to justify this behavior.
The missionaries asked me “is there anything we can do for you?”. I said yes. You can speak to parents in the home and unless that’s happening you need to leave people’s children alone playing in their own yards. This type of behavior is INSANE.
Do you just not even comprehend that religious beliefs within individual family homes is sacred and important to everyone? Come to my house like that and let me find you talking to my kids about your beliefs without my presence…what are you doing?
