Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.
Decorated in Blue, Sage Green, Gold, Lindon bush white flower. Celestial Room had a Barrel Vaulted Ceiling that went from one side of the room to the other. The staircase was wide, large and expansive with large stain glass windows. I was there a few days after it was dedicated. Beautiful, large and inviting!

Just to give some perspective I am Greek Orthodox, and I was invited by super nice friends of mine. I went to the open house at the Lindon Temple and I was amazed. 83K SF, with 2 awesome Spires, all clad in White Moncini stone. This was my first time in a LDS Temple and I can assure you it is one of the greatest religious buildings built in this century. It has dual baptismal fonts, the ability to conduct 4 weddings at a time, and the best glass and tile work I have seen in my life.
I don't know all the rules super well, but I did not see other people taking photos so there are none in my review. There are photos posted on the Temple Media Kit, if your curious. I also loved all of the gold leaf and beautiful (I am assuming recreations of) paintings of Christ. If my grandmother had been with me it would have taken 4 hours to go through because she would be praying at every painting.
Also I was blown away by the organization of this event. There is a reason SLC has the airport with the most on-time flights. Every single detail you could imagine was thought of. Tents to keep shade, attendants galore, and everyone was 10/10 friendly. I am so glad that I got to experience it, I am very excited and hoping to see the SLC temple next.

Beautiful temple. I have been to other open houses and have had wonderful experiences. Unfortunately my experience at this one has me quite hurt. The lines were confusing so I asked a couple of the guides where they would like me to go. I received multiple different answers and when I stood somewhere I was told to go, I was rudely redirected to another area. Going into the temple one of the volunteers was very impatient with a mother who was trying to take care of her baby. The woman talking to her was no where near gentle and came across as quite condescending. Once I got into the temple the first part was great. As we were walking through I had an usher look me up and down, shake the side of her skirt and look at me with raised eyebrows. Seemingly wondering why I was not wearing one. Then we were traveling to another room and another usher told me to put my hand down as I pointed to a painting to show my partner how I thought it was beautiful. Not a word or sound left my mouth, I was quiet and fairly reverent. I am a member of the church, I know the expectations. Another room we went to we were told to take our time, as soon as we sat down we were asked to stand back up and then rushed out. It was hasty, I didnt have to take anything in and the ushers were abrupt and not so gentle. I get being direct, I work in customer service. I understand they have to keep a flow going. And at the same time they didnt need to be condecending. I am highly dissapointed and hurt. The culture around the church here in Utah would benefit from having a character check. We are not better than anyone else. We are not all high and mighty just because we are members of a certain religion. I sincerely hope others have had better experiences.
