I normally would not leave a negative review for a church because we genuinely love our community and appreciate the church being part of the neighborhood. This is not about attacking anyone’s beliefs or the church itself — it’s about basic respect and safety for the people who live here.
As neighbors, we would expect the same consideration and respect that we try to give others. Unfortunately, members attending the church on Dixie Springs Drive continue to speed excessively through our residential neighborhood instead of using the church’s designated exit. This happens not only on Sundays, but during multiple weekday sessions and events as well.
There is absolutely no reason for vehicles to be going what feels close to 50 mph on small neighborhood streets where children are outside playing, families are walking, and dogs are regularly out in the area. We have personally witnessed several close calls where kids and pets were nearly hit because drivers were flying around the corner at unsafe speeds.
What makes this especially frustrating is that these concerns have already been brought up politely and respectfully. Instead of responding with understanding, some individuals became combative, dismissive, and passive aggressive.
A church should be setting an example of respect, community awareness, and consideration for neighbors. We are simply asking attendees to slow down, drive safely, and use the proper church exit instead of treating our neighborhood like a shortcut.
