Gateway Community Health Center (GCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center. The organization’s administrative office is located in the city of Laredo, in Webb County, Texas. Since 1989, GCHC has been a local leader in establishing and providing excellence in health care for underserved population members of Webb County, Texas. The organization began as a sub-component of the local health department in 1963, serving only migrants in the area.
In 2009, the organization successfully expanded its service region by receiving federal funding approval, through an application for Service Area Competition, to provide primary health care services for residents in neighboring Jim Hogg and Zapata Counties.
