  Staff turnover is a HUGE issue here. My child was constantly coming home asking where their teachers went, and honestly, I had the same question. In the last month alone, we have seen about 8 teachers leave. My child who already struggles with being away from their parents, constantly having to adjust to a new teacher is extremely difficult. Just when my child becomes comfortable with someone that teacher is suddenly gone and someone new is brought in. The communication has also been extremely disappointing. My child has come home with scratches and has been bitten many many times. We have also repeatedly been told about other children being bit over and over! There have been multiple incidents where I did not receive a report or communication about what happened during the day. When I asked a teacher about the situation, I was told there was a three-bite policy and that a child would be sent home after three incidents. However, I have also been told that this policy is not consistently enforced by management. That inconsistency is concerning when it involves the safety of my… well all our children. I understand that children are still learning how to interact with each other, and I am not expecting a daycare to prevent every single incident. What I do expect is consistent communication, appropriate supervision, and for policies regarding safety to actually be followed. I was hesitant to post this review, but after seeing concerns from other parents and hearing similar concerns from former staff, I felt it was important to share our experience. We have made the decision to pull our child from this daycare. It is incredibly disappointing to leave, but ultimately, we need to feel confident that our child is safe, supported, and in a stable environmment.

  Unfortunately, our experience with this daycare has raised several serious concerns. The high staff turnover has made it difficult for children to have the consistency and stability they need. In one year, we went through 12 teachers. This past week on of my children's classrooms lost all teachers assigned to the room. Frequent changes in teachers and caregivers can be particularly challenging for young children who benefit from predictable routines and familiar adults. This has negativity affected my youngest particularly with emotional regulation and potty training. We have also had concerns regarding management and communication. At times, issues have not been handled in a way that felt collaborative, transparent, or focused on the best interests of the children. Leadership should create an environment where parents feel heard and where concerns are addressed professionally and constructively. Most concerning has been the apparent lack of understanding of age-appropriate child development demonstrated by some members of the administration. Behaviors that are developmentally common in toddlers and preschoolers have, in our experience, sometimes been treated as though they are intentional defiance or indicative of a larger problem, rather than being addressed with appropriate developmental expectations and evidence-based behavioral strategies. Young children are still developing impulse control, emotional regulation, communication, empathy, and the ability to understand the consequences of their actions. Staff working with this age group should have a strong understanding of these developmental realities. I believe daycare leadership has a responsibility to ensure that staff are adequately trained in early childhood development, positive behavior management, and developmentally appropriate expectations. Children deserve a nurturing, consistent environment, and parents deserve clear communication and confidence that their concerns are being handled by knowledgeable professionals. I hope the daycare takes this feedback seriously and invests in improving staff retention, leadership, communication, and training in child development. I set a VERY low bar at they still fell short. Be warned.

  We absolutely LOVE this location of Childrens lighthouse!!! The environment is bright and cheerful, but what really makes the difference is the way the staff shows up for every child. What impresses me most is how personally they treat each kid. It doesn’t feel like a one-size-fits-all place. They take time to learn children as individuals—what they need, what helps them feel secure, and what motivates them. You can tell they don’t see children as problems to manage; they see them as young humans who are still learning and growing. They also go above and beyond to help kids thrive. Instead of dismissing behavior or simply trying to “get through the day,” they work with children and families to find solutions (We had that issue at our last daycare for my preschooler and even though we had been there for several years, it felt like they rather get rid of the child then try to help them.) This staff seems genuinely invested in helping each child succeed—emotionally, socially, and developmentally. That kind of patience and support is rare, and it makes a huge difference for kids who need extra encouragement, structure, or help settling in. I have a child in the preK class and infant class. JoAnn in the infant class is sooooo amazing!!! Its hard for moms to drop their babies off and trust that they will be taken care of. She sends tons of pictures on the app throughout the day and communicates well at pick up. When I peep in on the camera, I see her loving on all the babies and it makes this momma heart happy. The preK teachers are always excited to see the kids and spend the day with them and I can't say enough about the owner and assistant director, Mrs Hunter!! Your kids are in great hands here. I would recommend them to anyone.

  We have had the absolute best experience with this daycare. My son started here at just 4 months old, and he has truly thrived ever since. The love, care, and attention the teachers show the children is so evident every single day. A very special thank you to his main teacher, JoAnn, who has been such an important part of his growth and development. It is so clear how much she genuinely loves and cares for him, and we will always be grateful for the comfort, patience, and support she has given him since he started. Michelle, Mary, and Diane have also been absolutely amazing to our son, and it has meant so much to us knowing he was surrounded by people who truly cared about him every day. The director, Kelly, and assistant director, Hunter, have also been wonderful throughout our time here. They have created such a welcoming, caring environment, and it always gave us so much peace of mind knowing our son was in such great hands. When he first started, he had a difficult time taking bottles, and they were so patient and helpful through that process. They also helped so much with his food journey and introducing new things as he grew. We always felt supported and knew he was in the best hands. We are moving, so it is incredibly sad to be leaving this daycare and the teachers who have become such an important part of our son’s life. We truly could not recommend them more!
