I don't write many reviews but this facility deserves my 5 star review. My mom has lived there now for a year, and we all feel so lucky to have found the facility. The staff is incredibly nice. The facility itself is so well-maintained. The room is well sized for her needs. I have to say the food is actually good. We have had lunch there with my mom, and it's great. They have an in-house service that offers à la carte medical services. We use them to have my mom's meds dispensed twice a day. Mom loves the technicians that give her the meds. It's also a peace-of-mind thing that someone sees my mom twice a day. If they notice anything unusual, they give us a call. This is a much cheaper option than assisted living, which my mom does not need now. My wife and I both said we would move into the place if we needed a retirement community.

“I am documenting a very concerning experience at this facility. Upon arrival, I was treated in a rude and unprofessional manner by front desk staff. I was instructed to move my vehicle from a parking area despite there being no visible signage indicating any restriction. I was required to do so in the rain, which directly resulted in water damage to my phone and laptop. Following this incident, management contacted my agency and relayed statements about me that I believe to be false and damaging to my professional reputation. I have retained records of the interaction. This experience raises serious concerns regarding staff conduct, communication, and accountability. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when engaging with this facility.”

I have been communicating with Kayle at Village on the Park Steeplechase for a couple of months, on and off. We did an initial visit and a return visit after a recommendation from a dementia care consultant, wanting to settle my mom in an independent living apartment, so I also had conversations with the home care support agency that serves clients on site. It’s truly a wonderful place; many of the staff have been there for the long term, which means so much in terms of being confident that it’s a positive environment where people are working well together to support their senior residents. Kayle was so helpful with my many question and the attention to detail there is truly impressive. It’s a vibrant environment that seems like it will be a pleasure to live in.

They can’t keep staff to the detriment of their residents and their families. Information doesn’t transfer from one shift to the next so family is forced to be involved 24/7 to do their basic work for them. FOUR Executive Directors so far in 2024, each lacking ALL the previous & pertinent info from before their arrival. The neck alerts in for Asst Living residents RARELY work so my father sits waiting to use a bathroom for 30+ minutes and that’s IF they receive the notification at all. 80% of the time they never receive it…or so they say. Nasty attitudes from Asst Living Med-Techs and staff. They’ve fired all the good ones & left staff who are never accountable for any of their actions…or lack of action. 2 good staff members left, but they don’t work often enough to make a positive impact. Before moving your family in, spend time there-especially evenings. They’re always understaffed.
