Our experience with KinderCare Grand Prairie has been extremely disappointing, and ultimately we no longer felt comfortable keeping our son enrolled there.
There were numerous incidents and ongoing concerns during our time at the facility. On one occasion, our son had an accident that resulted in blood getting on his shirt. The shirt was not sent home with him for approximately three weeks. It was only after we began asking questions that we received incident reports regarding what had supposedly occurred—and those reports appeared to have been created and/or provided after the fact. This raised serious concerns for us about communication, documentation, and transparency.
On another occasion, our son came home with a black eye. We were not notified when the injury occurred. Instead, we were informed approximately eight hours later when we arrived to pick him up. As parents, we expect to be promptly notified when our child sustains an injury, particularly one that is visible and significant enough to require explanation.
We also had ongoing concerns about the basic daily care our son was receiving, particularly how frequently he was being changed. He would regularly come home with severe diaper rashes that became significant enough to require additional visits to our pediatrician and medicated treatment. While we understand that diaper rashes can happen, the frequency and severity of these rashes caused us to question whether he was being changed consistently and whether his needs were being adequately monitored throughout the day.
Communication through the KinderCare app was another recurring issue. Daily pictures, food information, and diaper-change information were not consistently updated. When we raised concerns about the lack of updates, we were given explanations involving internet connectivity and weather. While we understand that technology can occasionally have issues, the frequency of missing information made it difficult for us to have confidence that we were receiving an accurate picture of our son’s day.
Staffing was also a persistent concern. The facility appeared to be frequently short-staffed, and classroom sizes regularly seemed to exceed what we understood the state requirements to allow. We also had concerns about the removal of the in-house cameras, which eliminated our ability as parents to review what happened when incidents occurred. That loss of transparency was particularly troubling given the other issues we were experiencing.
We were convinced multiple times by the Regional Director to remain enrolled, with assurances that changes would be made and things would improve. We gave the facility those opportunities because we genuinely wanted things to get better for our son. Unfortunately, despite those repeated assurances, we did not see the level of improvement we were promised.
We understand that no childcare facility will ever operate perfectly, and we don’t expect perfection. What we do expect is appropriate supervision, consistent basic care, timely communication when our child is injured, accurate and timely documentation, adequate staffing, and transparency with parents. Unfortunately, our experience did not consistently meet those basic expectations.
Ultimately, we lost confidence in the facility and made the decision to leave. We sincerely hope KinderCare Grand Prairie takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful changes, because parents should not have to repeatedly ask questions to understand what happened to their own child or whether their child’s basic needs are being consistently met.

Every single person on the staff has been nothing short of AMAZING. I could write a story about what a blessing they have been to my family and my baby. Every child I’ve seen there has been happy and well taken care of. My baby has learned and grown so much in just a few months. I will be sad when she has to graduate to elementary school 😭 thank you to everyone at Kinder Care Gp!!!
