My 102 year old mother absolutely loves Grand Living at Georgetown. The staff treats her like a queen and her only complaint is that she "eats too much because the food is so good". She has made some wonderful new friends and really enjoys all the activities, music, and games that they provide. Nabib, Megan, Lisa and Kate have been especially wonderful in making this experience possible for my mother. I will always be grateful for Grand Living at Georgetown for making her last chapter in life so enjoyable. I think she might live a few more years because of the joy she finds at Grand Living.

My wife and I moved into Grand Living at Georgetown about four months ago. We are 83 but "young 83" year olds. We both have some issues but we continue to enjoy life robustly both in and out of Grand Living. We still drive and are active In Georgetown, but we decided that while we still had agency we wanted to ensure that our kids had nothing to do and no expenses to incur at the end of our lives. We thoroughly researched and visited multiple places in both Georgetown and in Austin. We finally settled on Grand Living and now I want to explain just how special the place has proven to be. I believe that there are two main criteria by which any organization or institution can be evaluated to determine where it ranks on a sliding scale from Poor to Excellent, and they are the kind of culture that exists and how it responds in times of crisis. By both of these yardsticks I believe that Grand Living in Georgetown has earned an A+/Excellent. The creation of a culture that is open, nourishing, transparent, friendly, and supportive of all necessarily starts at the top, and must be embraced by the entire staff if that culture is to be sustained over time. In my opinion the leadership team at Grand Living is second to none. I could provide a long list naming the people here who work tirelessly to maintain and support the remarkable culture that defines Grand Living at Georgetown. But for brevity's sake I shall just say that Kate Jones has assembled and orchestrates a group of people who excel in their positions and function as a healthy team with the well-being of the residents as their overriding priority. Moreover, it is not just me saying this. The many residents whom I have come to know share similar thoughts with me on a regular basis. I believe that we all experience how special the culture here really is, and in turn are inspired to do our part to keep it so. Good and healthy cultures are so hard to create and can be destroyed overnight. Early this week we experienced a severe storm that knocked out our power, including an extremely rare occurrence which took out the reserve generators too. And the mother board for the elevators also was fried. All of this entailed that many elderly residents were caught down stairs with no way to return to their apartments on one of four levels. The response of the leadership team and all of the staff was nothing short of phenomenal. The Corporate Officers deserves praise too for their rapid response including arranging for necessary parts to remedy the broken elevators to be flown over night from Korea. The leadership team and the staff delivered food to every person's apartment throughout the crisis. It is no mean feat when meals are delivered in a timely fashion to individual apartments which required negotiating four flights of stairs. And they performed all of these duties and countless more with cheerful dispositions and smiles on their faces. In short, they worked themselves to exhaustion but did it because of their devotion to the resident's well-being. So, for all that I have mentioned, my wife and I are convinced that we are in the perfect place to spend whatever time we have left. Finally, allow me to give you some basis for interpreting my remarks. I was an academic serving as a university professor and held multiple senior level executive positions at several universities around the country. The last thirteen years of my career I served as the president of Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. One book that formed part of my thinking was James Collin's Book, Good to Great, in which he argued that good can be the enemy of great. And he talked about the importance of getting "the right people on the bus." From my perspective, the right people are on the bus at Grand Living in Georgetown. After researching and visiting all of the places in Georgetown and Austin that offered senior living, our belief that Grand Living stood out from all the rest has been thoroughly vindicated. Sincerely, Keith and Marsha Lovin

Recently, I experienced a situation involving my mother here, and I truly cannot say enough good things about how everything was handled. I want to give a special thank you to the incredibly hardworking staff and marketing team for their kindness, support, and the wonderful tour they provided. This past year has been extremely difficult not being able to see my mother regularly, and throughout that time the staff at Georgetown have truly stepped up and cared for her with compassion and dedication. Their support has meant more to our family than words can express. We are very grateful for everything they have done!

DONT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN MEMORY CARE! They make it sound nice but its far from nice. They continually over promise and underdeliver. When they show you the activities calendar some of the activities will get done and others won't. The calendar is full just to make it look good. Every Friday they have happy hour but rarely do they bring memory care patients down unless family members come in and take them themselves . My biggest complaint is med-errors. If your loved one needs medication administered, they may get it late or not at all. I'm surprised that a resident has not become very ill due to medication errors. I have discussed this multiple times with the CEO, the director of nursing and corporate only to fall on deaf ears. Do not fall for the bright and shiny beauty of the building. Take a very close look at the care that they receive because it's not what they sell you.
