  Great place to stay, friendly staff, fast service. Little bar/restaurant was very nice as well. Pool and outside area are pretty neat as well

  This was my second stay here. The first was about five years ago, back when the hotel was still pretty new, so I was looking forward to staying here again. The room was a great size, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. The location is also hard to beat. It's central to just about everything, and there are plenty of great restaurants just a few minutes away. The staff was friendly throughout my stay. My room wasn't ready when I arrived, so they comped my $38 parking fee, which I appreciated. The parking charge is steep, but that's unfortunately pretty typical for the area. At least they let you self-park instead of making you wait on valet. The free breakfast was a nice perk. The food itself was pretty average, but I still appreciate that it's included. The biggest issue was the smell. My room, and even the hallway outside it, had a noticeable body odor smell. Then I realized the bath towels smelled the same way. It wasn't enough to send me looking for another hotel, but it was enough that I noticed it over and over again throughout my stay. The TV setup also felt a little dated. It only offered local channels with no streaming options, which seems like an odd omission these days. One tip if you're booking: on my first stay, I had a room facing Charlotte Avenue, and the street noise was pretty noticeable. I didn't have that issue this time because my room faced the other direction, but I chatted with another guest who was staying on the Charlotte side, and they mentioned the same thing. Overall, this wasn't a bad stay, but it also wasn't the experience I remembered from a few years ago. There are a lot of things to like here, but the odor throughout my room and in the linens kept this stay from being as enjoyable as it could have been

  Booked a room at this hotel last weekend after we had to cancel our Hilton reservation due to their systems being down. Turns out it was for the best! Jacob and Amelia at the front desk were amazing from the get go. The room we booked wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but Jacob went above and beyond to make up for it. The rooms and the hotel in general were also very clean and the suite was spacious. The parking garage was also nice since it was fully covered and shielded us from the rain. The location is also pretty nice, right outside of downtown but close enough to the action. The hotel was definitely a bright spot during a trip that started pretty terribly!
