UPDATE: Please read if you're considering this place for assisted living for your parent!! My mother has been here for almost five months and while this was supposed to be a relief for me, it has caused more stress than relief. One of the main reasons I needed her to go to assisted living was for people, other than me, to assist her with daily living. We have had issues with every department since February, however, the part that has me questioning keeping my mother there is the medical staff. My mother is a tier 3 with regard to the type of assistance she needs. She is independent getting dressed and showering but needs help with meds because she can't see. She's considered legally blind. She has a number of medications that she takes and I can't tell you how many times this place has screwed them up. They either forget to give her a med, lose the med, don't call in the refill in time (therefore my mother doesn't get it until it's delivered), give her a med that has been discontinued, or don't come in at all. THIS is what she needs assistance with and they can't get it right. If they're messing up her meds, I can't imagine who else is having this problem. I live very close to this facility and have made my presence known but what about the residents whose family aren't there regularly?? To make matters worse, I have contacted corporate about these issues and while their initial response was prompt and they seemed to be listening, they have failed to follow up. It has been 4 weeks since I was told someone would get back with me and I've heard nothing. Perhaps the most infuriating thing that has happened was this past week. My mother had fallen while going to the bathroom one morning and she laid on the floor from 5:15am-6:30am after pushing her alert button for over an hour!!!! Apparently the night staff had fallen asleep!! You might want to rethink sending your parent here unless you live a few miles away and can be there to check on the staff you pay an exorbitant amount of money to, to "assist" them. Other issues I have include: - failure to cut my mother's food so she doesn't choke - housekeeping forgetting to do her laundry - medical staff blaming opposite shift for their shortcomings - flood in my mother's bathroom over memorial day and the maintenance guy was "on vacation". She had to wait 3 days for resolution - my mother can't read yet they continue to flood her room with the daily chronicles. I've told them that someone needs to tell her what activities are happening each day. - she was being charged for meals being delivered to her room while she was sick or unable to go to the dining room because of her oxygen limitations. When speaking to the executive director, she explained that the staff is supposed to get the med staff (so reliable) to sign off saying she couldn't go down and that should resolve the fee. This system has failed over and over again. My mother's food bill continues to be wrong every single month. Honestly, I deserve a paycheck for all the work I've been doing while my mother is supposed to be cared for by professionals. Unfortunately, the nice exterior no longer hides the terror within. I hope this helps someone with their decision making. Beautiful establishment, kept very clean and smells good Friendly staff Open door policy Activities Larger community than most assisted living communities in our area Overall cost Amenities

I chose Watercrest for Mom because of proximity to my (daughter) home, beautiful inviting facility, fees expensive but competitive; the staff and management are caring and responsive.
