The counseling I received through Spring of Hope has been instrumental in helping me heal through unexpected major life transitions. My counselor listened to the Holy Spirit as she led me to uncovering heart wounds that had trapped and influenced my decisions, perspective, and responses for years. God used Spring of Hope in real ways to set me free to be me.

"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." I participated in Spring of Hope Prayer counseling sessions because I had been struggling with confidence issues I was having due to a very critical person. I found my counselor was friendly, very attentive to my concerns and affirming of me as an individual. As a Christian, I was to consider what the Bible said about God's love for me. Why does God love ME? I only need to believe the truths of God, not man. Sometimes, we want to have our unhealthy feelings validated, that they are justified. Yet in order to be truly free, we must also acknowledge our part of the process- and this for our own good and well-being. We do always have a part in our misery- whether unforgiveness, bitterness, fear or the like. When we can boldly face these sins, we can be free of those burdens that weigh us down. Be willing to listen and consider what your counselor says, seek God's face and search God's word. They may not be the answer for some severe illnesses, but I will recommend Spring of Hope Prayer Ministries. It took some work on my part and they were of great help to me.

My daughter went here for severe anxiety. She was told to repeat the "counselor's" prayer asking God to forgive her for the sins she committed to cause the anxiety. After 2 sessions my daughter never went back, and her anxiety was worse with each session she had. I was told I needed to pray more and play more Christian music at home. I found out that they call themselves "PRAYER counselors" because they only go through a few hours of training. They are NOT LICENSED TRAINED counselors, they have not gone to years of college to be counselors. Once we found a LICENSED TRAINED Christian counselor, my daughter was diagnosed with OCD. What Spring of Hope did to her made things considerably worse! Another daughter was engaged but not married and became pregnant. Her "counselor" at Spring of Hope told her and her fiance that their baby would always have a black mark on her, that she would always know she was a mistake and that she was not loved or wanted! Let me tell you that that precious little girl does not have a black mark on her, she is wanted and dearly loved. I know story after story of people who have gone here and ended up in much worse shape. I would never recommend them. If you want a LICENSED TRAINED Christian counselor I suggest you look up Justin Erb at Greenleaf Christian Counseling in Waynesboro, PA.
