  Statement Regarding My Experience with KinderCare My experience with KinderCare was extremely disappointing and created a significant hardship for both me and my autistic son. On my son’s very first day, he was sent home after only one hour. He was never given a fair opportunity to adjust to the environment or participate in any type of trial period. Instead, I was informed that he would not be allowed to return unless he had a one-on-one therapist with him. This requirement was never discussed with me before enrollment. In addition to the emotional stress this caused, I also experienced financial hardship. KinderCare charged me a $365 payment for the summer program, and my deposit was $75 more than what I had originally been told it would be. Despite informing me that my son would not be able to attend, no one mentioned a refund or explained the refund process. I had to contact the center myself to ask about getting my money back. Only then was I told that it could take up to 30 days to receive a refund. Since then, I have not received any updates or communication regarding the status of my refund. As the parent of a child with autism, I expected my son to be treated with patience, understanding, and given a reasonable opportunity to succeed. Instead, he was dismissed after only one hour without being given a genuine chance to adjust. The lack of communication, the unexpected financial burden, and the way this situation was handled caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience for my family. I believe this experience reflects a lack of accommodation, compassion, and transparency, and I hope my concerns are taken seriously so that other families do not experience similar treatment.

  The staff and location is amazing. My grandson Wesley loves going everyday. He has grown so much in knowledge. The Penn Hills location is clean and very safe. And the staff greets you everyday with a smile. If you’re looking for a safe and fun learning daycare. KinderCare is it!

  If I could I would give them a 0. They have favoritism over kids and bend the rules for them but are strict with everyone else. The center director makes excuses for all the teachers and never holds the school accountable. They don’t value you or you child or business and if you bring any injustice to light they say “you can go somewhere else”. The last straw was when the center director took my sons pancakes and let him starve until lunch time because he was “taunting other children”. My son came home from school that day saying he didn’t want to go back. School is a place your suppose to feel like your child is safe and that’s far from what I felt. If your considering this place hopefully your child is on the favorites list if not your child is just a number to them.

  Update: 10/1/2025 I’ve been here a few years and they’ve gone through LOTS of changes. I’m glad that things finally seem to be consistent with teacher retention. I certainly appreciate the level of communication they provide and their effort to create a safe learning environment. I can tell that they care about the kids, and I’d absolutely recommend this daycare center! Original post 4 years ago: My experience with East Pittsburgh KinderCare has been wonderful and exciting! In the infant room, the babies are alert, content, and clean. Every time I visit, they are happy and there is some form of stimulation such as singing, talking, or on the floor activities. I am thankful for the level of communication provided by staff regarding activities and childcare. The most important part of my experience is the level of cleanliness that occurs daily! When I enter the room at drop off and pick up, the staff is cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the room. Additionally, the level of cleanliness provided by the staff is vital given that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic. The mask requirement and established protocols to keep the babies and kids safe is much appreciated! Keep up the great work, East Pittsburgh KinderCare!

  East Pittsburgh Kindercare is by far the best daycare I have ever been to. The staff is fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and caring. I was scared to leave my child with anyone but after seeing the staff interacting with the other children I knew they cared so much for the children and you can tell they love what they do. I highly recommend this daycare!!!
