My mother has lived here for over a year and a half. She has Parkinson's, which affects her mobility and her daily routine in ways that require real attention and patience, and I want people researching this place to know what we've experienced.
The third floor wellness team, led by Kahlia and Brittney and Carla and including Khalil, Tandy, Stephanie, Rosie, Sharron, Maxine, Marcie, Naomi, Vanessa, and Ebony (and many others I'm forgetting) have been extraordinary. So have the physical therapy team of Jackie and Ed, and Occupational Therapist Julie and Speech Therapist Ethel - great work being done there for all residents. They all know my mother's preferences, her rhythms, and help her even more on her harder days. They show up for her with consistency. When something changes with her health or her mood, or there's the possibility of a real problem, they notice and correct it. They get her out to group activities when she's able and wants to, but respect it when she's tired or would rather not. Every staff member, whether they're new or have been there for years, takes the time to learn my mom's name and to learn about her. They interact with her on a very kind and personal level, and not in a rushed manner (even when I can tell they are busy).
Mary runs activities, with the help of Nell and Gillian and they're all incredible - because of them my mom is more socially active and engaged than she was before she moved in, and she enjoys every activity she has the energy to attend. Mary and Nell and Gillian are so good at what they do and so warm with all of the residents.
Phil and Jeremy in Maintenance routinely go above and beyond, they are such a good team.
The whole staff acts like a family to get things done, which is rare in the places we visited and researched. And the residents are part of that family.
Jamie and the dining chef and the rest of the dining crew take pride in what they do, remember my mom's name and food preferences, and the food is really good. Carrie was part of that dining team for a long time and has since moved to the front desk, where she's doing an equally wonderful job welcoming residents and families and managing operations, which she is great at. So are Rafia and Imani and Sue and others I'm forgetting.
We have recommended this community to others without hesitation. The staff here takes their work seriously, and we feel it every time we visit.
Also, after a transition to a new corporate ownership company, Danielle, the new Executive Director is doing an incredible job leading the entire organization after rising through the ranks internally. She cares so much and it really shows.
