  I recently had the pleasure of participating in the Sherwood Merrill Gardens fundraiser as a local community member, and I walked away incredibly impressed. Not only was the event beautifully organized and focused on raising awareness and support for Alzheimer's, but it also gave me the opportunity to interact with many of the Merrill Gardens team members and observe firsthand the care and compassion they show their residents. The enthusiasm, positivity, and genuine joy among the staff were unmistakable. It was evident that the residents are not simply cared for, they are truly known, valued, and loved. Great efforts were made to bring our entire community together for a meaningful cause, creating an atmosphere of connection and support that was inspiring to witness. Sherwood is incredibly fortunate to have a place like Merrill Gardens. Their commitment to serving seniors with dignity, kindness, and heart is something truly special, and I am grateful to have experienced it firsthand.

  The Lever of Care at Meryl Gardens is impeccable. It’s a place where makes people feel at home. What we love most about the community is the staff that’s always present, compassionate , caring and always ready to listen. . Like to give a shout out to Stephanie, Heidi, Jolene (the list goes on) for their professionalism they show day in and day out. Great place to live ! Thank you 😊

  While on a business trip to Portland, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit the city of Sherwood with some friends. We had discussed seeking a new positive environment for my wife's mother. We're from the Midwest and read the reviews and spoke with the staff at this location. We toured the establishment and came away with a sense of ease and tranquility with the both the staff and all the great amenities. Its never easy to place a loved one in any assisted living environment. We had considered other options, however when were shown all the floor plans, services and the great staff we knew this was the place my mother in law would grow and be in a very safe environment. On our final day in town we were so amazed and returned to ask some questions we forgot to get clarification on. We met the general manager ms. Stephanie as we were walking in and had an awesome conversation with her. Meeting her pretty much sealed the deal. We need to return home and conclude some personal and business affairs and we are very confident she will grow and be loved at Merrill Gardens. Thank you

  My mom has been living at Merrill Gardens at Sherwood for about 10 months. After an extended period of time caring for our ailing father before he died, she had neglected taking care of herself and was having some health issues (including some cognitive changes). My brother and I suggested looking at retirement places. She absolutely would not entertain the prospect! After forcing her to visit several places and getting nowhere, we visited Merril Gardens. From the moment we walked in the front door, we could tell there was a different vibe to the place. Residents were all over, and they were friendly and welcoming. The sales team did a great job of treating her like a person. The nursing team was very helpful in explaining to us how care and services would work for her needs. Since she has moved in, there have been a few minor hiccups (missed a week of housekeeping, meal service took longer than anticipated). Annoying but minor, and there are also a hundred other family's the staff are dealing with. The managers have always been responsive and receptive about and addressing concerns. Compared to the experiences some of my friends share about their parents and having to move somewhere, we feel very fortunate that Mom is in a place where she is safe and secure and happy.
