  I had delightful experience at the Summer Social on July 28, 2026. Had great conversation with several of the residents and they all had very positive experiences about their living environment. A couple of visitors I visited with were also of the opinion that this Merrill Gardens would be their choice whenever they transition to senior living status. All the staff members were very cordial and friendly. The administrative staff willingly answered my questions----they were outstanding! B.S.

  I checked out a dozen Portland Metro independent living places and here was clearly the best - considering leadership, spirited service, and finances. There are many room designs and excellent activities to choose from and the staff are very good at mixing, adjusting and going the extra mile. And the baker and chef provide outstanding meals and desserts. The atmosphere and residents give us a true feeling of community. The photo is a nature walking area a block or so away.

  I can’t say enough wonderful things about Merrill Gardens! From the moment you walk through the doors, you can tell this is a place where residents truly come first. The community is beautiful, warm, welcoming, and exceptionally well maintained. The General Manager does an outstanding job leading the team and creating an environment where residents feel valued, safe, and at home. It’s clear that the staff take pride in what they do, and that starts with great leadership. The caregivers are compassionate, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their attention to detail and dedication to each resident’s individual needs is evident every day, providing families with peace of mind knowing their loved ones are receiving excellent care. The dining experience is another highlight! The meals are delicious, beautifully prepared, and offer a great variety, making every meal something residents can look forward to. If you’re looking for an assisted living community that combines exceptional care, outstanding leadership, a beautiful environment, and excellent dining, I highly recommend Merrill Gardens. It’s truly a wonderful place to call home!

  One of the things that stands out most about Merrill Gardens is the incredible atmosphere. The front desk staff are always welcoming, courteous, and professional, making every resident, family member, and visitor feel valued from the moment they arrive. You can tell the entire team enjoys working together—the collaboration and support among the staff create a positive environment that is reflected in the excellent care residents receive. There is always something happening, with a wide variety of activities that keep residents engaged, social, and having fun. It’s wonderful to see a community where kindness, teamwork, and resident happiness are clearly top priorities. I would highly recommend Merrill Gardens to anyone looking for a caring and vibrant place to call home.

  It’s the Time in life that decisions must be made that impact us and our families. Me and my siblings visited Merrill Gardens-Cedar Mill seeking an environment for our mother who’s been a life longer in the area. Keeping her close to her roots is important for her. From the time we pulled up and walked in we knew this will be the place. The Beautiful building. Stunning grounds, very nice apartments and smiling employees made us feel welcomed. Melissa, General Manager was awesome! From her kind introduction to our stroll together throughout the property she was compassionate, understanding and most importantly she was listening to me and my siblings. We, and mom too look forward to becoming part of the family at Merrill Cedar Mill.
