Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

We love this temple. We have to drive several hours to get here, but it is always worth it. So excited to have a temple in Kansas soon!

Usually when I saw young men or women wearing white shirts and ties caring bibles walking up the street, I wasn't very polite and hopefully sent them on their way. This time there was something about these two young men one day. I'm a Catholic, my husband is Lutheran but we sat and talked for quite awhile. Do not know why but I was full of questions and felt so at ease listening about their MORMON faith. We talked over the big differences between the Catholic religion and Morman faith. They shared why the Mormons are portrayed as these strict, non-forgiving, crazy cult like followers. These two young men patiently and truthfully answered my questions honestly, without any hesitation or making me feel embarrassed for even questioning their faith.
They invited me and my husband to church on Sunday. Don't know exactly what I expected but what I do know was everyone was so genuinely warm, inviting. Their knowledge of the Mormon version or translation of the Bible was incredible, but they were respectful of the Catholic faith. Rather than have the babies and younger children be placed in a nursery, they are included with the whole congregation. I'm still interested as well as curious, I seriously doubt I'll convert into any other faith, but I'm learning to be more tolerant of each faith. All of this was possible because of the warmth and kindness of these two men.

Cutest little temple ever!! It’s so beautiful! The design was so unique and special. It was worth the 3 hr drive!!! We’d love to return!
I think their baptism appointments are sparse in the day so make sure to get an appointment or at least look at the times so you know.
