RC is a good church beginners church, if you’re a new Christian or new to Columbus. The preaching is biblically based - ppl leaving the reviews about Pastor Chad and his opinions haven’t read the Bible. He won’t preach what you want to hear. He will preach what the Bible says and sometimes that’s not easy to hear if it applies to you and hits a nerve. Music is good. But once you’ve been coming here for awhile, you’ll start to see things that are “off”. The lobby is filled with staff members, smiling and welcoming ppl as they walk in but if you get involved you find these same staff members are actually pretty rude when not standing in the lobby for all to see. You can’t sit where you want, the ushers dictate - rudely - where you have to sit. So if you don’t want to sit on the floor and/or up front - walk in late. And I shouldn’t have to explain a medical reason why I need an aisle seat, not smooshed like a sardine in the middle of a row, where it’s difficult to get out. And yes, you’ll be packed in because they close off about 1/3 to 1/2 of the seats so the church appears packed in the livestreams and YT videos. I also was turned off when they started selling “church merch” in the lobby. This is a house of prayer and worship and yet there’s a vibe about the RC “brand”. They have a good youth program but I wouldn’t send my kid to camp/retreat until they start splitting up the middle and high school kids. There are just too many kids and there is a certain lack of transparency with these trips. And lastly, speaking of transparency, there is no list of employees or their salaries, including the pastors. And I thought it was questionable when they established a full ride scholarship at the university where the pastor’s eldest daughter goes to school and n recipient was ever named. I went here for several years and left over a year ago. My entire family, including 4 adult kids, and my husband - we all quit one by one.

This place is disturbingly loud to live next to. I love my apartment complex but why is my personal home time being interrupted by this loud music. Imagine studying for your masters and the music being so loud it’s shaking your home, you can’t find no quiet space. And the only way to drown out the noise is putting on noise cancelling headphones. IN YOUR HOUSE!!! Where there are no other people that live with you. This can’t possibly be enjoyable inside. It sounds like a constant concert hall. And it’s not just on Sundays! this is so disturbing and inconvenient of the apartments next to it. For them to be people of God they sure aren’t convenient of other people. There is no reason i should hear their music in my HOME!!!!

This place is special. From the moment I took my first step in, I was welcomed as if I was part of their family. The music is amazing, the sermons are strong, tailored, and in my opinion, anointed. I strongly recommend stopping in to praise here!

My family and I have been attending Rock City for many years. My daughter was baptized there. We first attended Rock City Church at a Christmas Eve Concert. I felt at home there. The music is so uplifting and I always love Pastor Chad's messages. I have met his wife Katie and she is so friendly and welcoming. What truly has touched my heart is their Prison Ministry. Because of this church, I have been called to Prison Ministry. We are leaving Columbus, Ohio to move to Sunny Florida this summer. I will always be thankful for Rock City and what it has meant to us as a family for many years. ~ Making Heaven Full ~

You go to Rock City, you get rocks thrown at ya. As a former member all I experienced was hypocritical vibes. I don't go to church anymore. I believe God has my back better than any church or Pastor ever would 100% in the name of Jesus. If you don't believe me, you try going here for long periods of time and getting involved and you'll see all of the favoritism and backstabbing animosity you'll find yourself in. This is not a church, this is a cult. If I could go back in time I would stop myself from ever getting adjusted to this place. The worship is phenomenal but the animosity of the staff is ridiculous.
