  This school/daycare clearly doesn’t care about public safety or accessibility. Despite being told repeatedly, they keep blocking a fire hydrant with garbage cans and signs and obstructing the sidewalk, making it impossible for people in wheelchairs to get by. Not only is this inconsiderate, it’s dangerous and illegal. A school/daycare should set an example for children, not openly ignore basic safety and ADA accessibility.

  My kid had a great experience at River School. It was very diverse and the teachers were so affectionate and attentive. We loved the cultural events they had. It was a long time ago but it is still a good memory.

  We visited many day cares and private schools in the UWS community 3 years ago, hoping to find a half-day care for my son and then transit to full-day. River school does not provide half-day care so it is not our first choice at the beginning, but we were deeply impressed with the professionalism and kindness of the school and we chose it. Now it turned out to be the best choice. My son has enjoyed his school life for 3 years through Kangaroo, Monkey, and Giraffe Class. It is fantastic and we wish to stay one more year if they could offer Kindergarten. The staffs and teachers are professional, experienced, responsible, and full of welcome, kindness and love. The kids like to stick together even after school. The parents are always supportive and friendly. The school is very-diversified with families of different culture and background. It makes us feel more like a family than just a school. The school manages very well and does a very good job during the pandemic period and extreme weathers, which are of great help to parents. Ms. Heather and Kelly are very professional and helpful in the Kindergarten application process. The graduates are going to great public and private schools.

  We are very impressed with The River School. Our son started at 18 months and absolutely LOVES going to school each day. He loves all of the activities they do at school, the other children he has met, and I love being able to see what he does during the day. The teachers are all wonderful and really care about the children. Administration is always very responsive and they have done a wonderful job maintaining such a great school even during the pandemic. We would absolutely recommend The River School!
