  How I miss the kind people at The Arbors West in Islandia. My mom became a resident in May of 2023, and her social worker at that time was Stephanie Russell. She was absolutely wonderful with my mother (as was the other staff members). Denise in activities grew to love my mom as did Bernadette in Wellness. I know that Stephanie and Bernadette moved up in rank while my mom was there, but my mom had a special bond with these three in particular (she also loved Ty in Wellness)! Unfortunately, my mom passed in June of 2025, but I will never forget the care and attention given to my mother who had osteoporosis, scoliosis and macular degeneration. Even after Stephanie moved up, she always said hello and was so kind to her. I had the great pleasure of speaking to these three ladies (as well as a few ladies at the front desk), after my mother passed (special shout out to Charlene who hugged me after I lost her and was so caring). It’s coming up on a year since my mother went to heaven, but as long as I’m alive, I will always remember how lovingly they all treated my mom as well as myself. In fact, I can’t even pass Exit 57, without a bittersweet pang in my gut remembering all the positive interactions with the staff. Happy early Mother’s Day, to some of my favorite people, and I hope all is well, Ty! ❤️

  Brought mom to The Arbors at Islandia East, Safecare after years at another dementia care facility. Tawanda and her staff are kind, attentive, and professional, making the transition flawless. The daily schedule keeps mom busy all day and she is "matched" with comparable peers allowing her to interact in all the daily activities at her level. Mom is well taken care of and very happy and that is what matters most!

  A year and a half ago we needed to look for a memory/safe care facility for our Aunt who was struggling with dementia. We shopped around and settled on the Arbors in Islandia. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable on how to deal with loved ones with dementia and alzheimer's. They keep folks engaged with games, visits from musicians and other activities. To see our Aunt smile when we visited her was one of the best feelings since we knew she was happy being there. They have a doctor visit each week and keep you up to date with your loved ones health status. All the staff especially Traci and Tawanda are awesome. If you ever have to make the hard and difficult decision of transitioning a loved one to a care facility, I would suggest bringing them to the Arbors in Islandia. You won't regret it. They care.

  Horrible staff who cant even treat each other with respect, forget about leaving a loved one here. I wouldn't leave a pet mouse here with confidence.

  My mom lived at The Arbors Assisted Living in Islandia for a little over a year, and our family could not have been happier with the experience. The staff is incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive; they truly treat residents like family. The entire facility is always clean and well-maintained, which gave us great peace of mind. There are so many activities offered that my mom always had something enjoyable to do, and the beautiful outdoor space was a favorite spot for her to relax and spend time. We are so grateful for the wonderful care and supportive environment the Arbors provided. The Clark Family
