As someone who has spent more than 30 years in executive leadership within the hospitality industry, I understand and appreciate exceptional service when I experience it.
From the very first phone call to the warm and professional welcome we received in person, every member of your staff demonstrated genuine care and compassion. During the most difficult time of my life, your team made an incredibly challenging experience much easier to navigate.
I would like to especially recognize Stephanie, who spent time with our family making the arrangements. Her kindness, patience, professionalism, and attention to detail were nothing short of amazing. She provided comfort and guidance when we needed it most, and we will always be grateful for her support.
Overall, the level of service we received exceeded my expectations, and I could not have been happier with how everything was handled.
The only area that could use some attention is the carpet in the viewing room. It appeared somewhat worn and dirty in spots and could benefit from a thorough cleaning or replacement. Aside from that minor observation, the experience was outstanding in every respect.
Thank you to Stephanie and the entire team for your professionalism, compassion, and exceptional service during such a difficult time for our family.

Dealing with the death of a loved one is probably the most difficult experience one has to face. My family is blessed to have lots of support from within and must say it is just as important to choose a funeral home that treats you with care and compassion. We have found this each and every time working with the Thomas F Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park. They are attentive and helpful, navigating us through the steps from wake to burial. I can’t tell you how much we appreciated their thoughtfulness, and attention to details that can often be overlooked while going through the grieving process. Thank you for helping us lay to rest our father and brothers with love, care, and dignity. Thank you, Jessica, Jonathan, Stephanie and the entire staff for getting us through this difficult period.

We are very satisfied with the staff. Michelle and Stephanie were very polite and courteous. Very pleased with the entire staff for arrangements and make us comfortable.
On the other hand, We wanted the New Hyde Park location but on the day of the meeting at that location, we were advised that the availability for Tuesday evening was booked . We were offered the Floral Park location instead and was informed that it would be a lower cost if chosen. I didn’t see the Floral Park discount listed. It was out of the way for our families and viewing parties. Should we expect a discount? I paid for the entire amount before the viewing.
I am focusing on the loss of our precious Mother and prefer not to be involved with deep negotiations.
We thank your team Sincerely.

When I was growing up my family always used the Thomas Dalton Funeral home when there was a death in the family. This was my first opportunity to use them. My brother passed in NY and I'm.out of state now so when I was asked who I wanted to use I thought of them first. Making these arrangements from a distance is a difficult thing to do. They have been extremely helpful and making sure things go as smoothly as possible.
Thank you for making a difficult time as easy as possible.

Contact your clergy. Decide on time and place of funeral or memorial service. This can be done at the funeral home.

Arrange for members of family or close friends to take turns answering door or phone, keeping careful record of calls. If Social Security checks are automatic deposit, notify the bank of the death.
When I call, will someone come right away?
If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.
Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
What services does a Funeral Director provide at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home?
The Funeral Director handles body transportation, death certificate preparation, obituary submission, embalming and body preparation, funeral arrangements, coordination with clergy, police escort for funeral, flower arrangements, and grief assistance.
What steps should I take when a death occurs?
Contact the funeral home to coordinate with the cemetery, bring vital information such as birthplace and social security number, contact clergy, decide on funeral service details, notify family and friends, and gather obituary information. The funeral home assists throughout this process.
Is embalming legally required at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home?
Embalming is not required by law except in certain cases. It may be necessary if you select arrangements with viewing. Otherwise, you can choose options like direct cremation or immediate burial without embalming.
What options are available for final disposition of remains?
