My son attended BrightPath Elma from infancy through preschool, and for years we had a positive experience without major behavioral concerns. That changed once he entered preschool. Shortly after moving into Miss Emily’s room, my three-year-old said his teacher “didn’t like him.” Other staff told me comments had been made about him in front of him and that he was treated differently. His behavior at daycare changed dramatically, while we were not seeing the same behavior at home. Then came constant incident reports—many for minor behaviors, situations I felt were exaggerated, or information I disputed. It began to feel like a paper trail was being created instead of anyone asking why he was suddenly struggling. He was also sent home twice for behaviors that, based on BrightPath’s own policies, did not appear to warrant it. Supervision was another concern. I frequently observed teachers socializing instead of engaging with the children. Carson was portrayed as the child hurting others, yet regularly came home with bites, bruises, scratches, and other marks. One child even told me and her mother that Carson had been moved because he was a “really bad boy,” and said that was what Miss Emily told the class. Another day, Miss Autumn and Miss Annalisa physically prevented Carson from coming to me at pickup because he had dumped out bins. They wanted me to see the mess first. Teaching him to clean up is fine; holding him back from coming to his mother to make a point was not. I was concerned by a developmental screening completed by Miss Emily. Based on the scoring information we received, the area of concern ended around 85, yet Carson was scored at 315. A professional evaluation later found him superior in some areas, age-appropriate in most, and only slightly below in one. That made me seriously question whether the screening had been completed correctly. The center felt more consistent under previous leadership. I escalated concerns to BrightPath corporate, and they acknowledged staff needed more training in emotional regulation, behavior management, positive reinforcement, and redirection. When I said the agreed changes were not being followed, communication stopped. I would caution parents of children with behavioral challenges, special needs, or outside services. I did not feel the staff was adequately equipped to provide the support these children may need. Services are also provided in the busy cubby/entry area rather than a quiet space. Parents should also know BrightPath has run promotions where leaving a five-star review enters families into a raffle for a free month of tuition, potentially worth around $1,600. Families deserve that context when evaluating the reviews. BrightPath cared for Carson since he was a baby. These problems did not exist throughout his entire time there. If your child is placed in Miss Emily’s classroom, based on our experience, I would immediately request a change. I would not recommend BrightPath Elma.

Our daughter started at the Brightpath Elma location last fall. As first-time parents we had felt anxiety dropping off our baby for the first time somewhere new. Everyday sense we drop her off in the morning she is smiling with excitement at the staff member waiting for her at the door. It's obvious the team at Elma does a fantastic job connecting with the kids and gives us as parents confidence and trust. Sending daily pictures of activities my daughter is doing and the fun she is having with her friends is the best part of my day while at work. It's comforting. When we pick her up, she leaves with the same smile! Anyone looking for daycare options I would highly recommend Brightpath Elma.

We have been at BrightPath in one of the infant rooms for about a month with our 6 month old son and it has been fantastic from the start. Being able to leave our little guy with people we trust while at work has been huge and so important for us, especially mentally. Our little guy had a complicated start with a heart condition and the BrightPath team did not hesitate once and they have been amazing taking care of him. You can see how great they are at just getting to know all the babies and knowing what they need and like. Ms. Katie and Ms. Ava have been so kind and welcoming since we joined and Pamela the director has been so supportive and helpful ever since we met with her to originally tour the place. Cannot recommend this place enough!
