- TTToastJul 29, 20262.0Would rather repeat elementary school... The rules here are worrying and they seem to only be getting worse by the year. I remember how excited I was to start going to school here. The staff is okay, there are some teachers that need to understand the students here, but half of them are doing the right thing. It's upsetting seeing them enforce rules like cinch bags but they break almost right after the first use, then they run out of them, but still have the rule to keep backpacks in their lockers, which makes it hard for some people to carry things around. This is a middle school, so most females have to carry around feminine products, which can be embarrassing without anything to cover it with. The new rules that were posted only get worse like 'clear backpacks'. Clear backpacks are unreliable and can break easily, and in full circle to the cinch bag problem, this is once again, a middle school. Menstrual cycles exist. In addition, these clear backpacks defeat the purpose of bag checks. This makes no sense... I hope students will use a fabric/normal backpack and protect their privacy. My last complaint is the dress code. It is unnecessarily strict. I get that this is a middle school, but graphic t-shirts should be allowed, at least ones that do not feature or promote inappropriate topics. Also, I can't explain to you why jeans are prohibited. I can't seem to find the reason. I understand the reason behind shoes like slippers and sandals are forbidden, It's obvious. Children should be able to express themselves as long as it doesn't show excessive skin or engage in inappropriate topics, and I don't see why not. Expressing yourself is very important, especially during teen years.
