- DWDavid WaldMay 24, 20261.0My Mother-in-Law passed away last month after a long battle with cancer. While in her final days she was in a great rehab facility in Somerset, NJ that turned into Hospice when her health started to decline. To make sure she had extra care overnight, we also contracted with TheKey to have a Companion there overnight from their Mountainside location as we wanted to make sure there was someone with her in case immediate medical attention was needed and the Companion could go get a Nurse. We specifically dealt with Nancy from TheKey. During our Moms last two days on earth they failed us miserably….. they came late the prior day, to losing her and on our Moms final day they never showed up. She was alone when she passed! We could’ve stayed overnight to hold her hand and be with her. We called to find out what happened and they lied to us and told us someone was there but the Rehab facility confirmed nobody showed up from TheKey on her last day. TheKey was not reliable when it mattered the most! They could not get their story straight. At her time of need they did not do what they were hired to do and promised to us what they would do and for that reason, we do not recommend them and would advise not doing business with them if you care about your loved one. Who knows she might still be alive today had they been there for her. Stay away....
