I cannot say enough wonderful things about Poole Funeral Home and the entire staff. During such a difficult time for our family, they were compassionate, kind, patient, and made the entire process so much easier for us.
Bobby’s service was absolutely beautiful, and the video montage they created is something we will treasure forever. Every detail was handled with such care, and we always felt supported and never rushed.
We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed our family and for helping us create such a beautiful celebration of Bobby’s life. I would wholeheartedly recommend Poole Funeral Home to anyone needing compassionate and professional care during such a difficult time. ❤️

I cannot thank you all enough for the TLC and making my husband Ray Tocci look as great as he did considering he had to be transferred back to New York . we had just moved to NC a month ago when his unexpected death occurred I didn't know what to expect but your services were highly appreciated. I am completely devastated by his unforeseen death but seeing how natural he looked helped a lot. From the bottom of my heart I thank you Lucy Tocci

L. Harold Poole Funeral Home provided exceptional, compassionate, and dignified service for my father after his tragic and unexpected passing. Losing a parent is one of the most difficult experiences anyone can face, and at just 29 years old, I had never planned a funeral before and had no idea what the next steps should be.
From the very beginning, the staff guided me through the process with kindness and professionalism. In particular, Ron Murray was incredibly helpful. He took the time to clearly explain everything, outline the necessary steps, and ensure that every detail was handled in a timely manner. During one of the most difficult times in our lives, his compassion and support made a tremendous difference.
What stood out most was that the staff never made us feel pressured or encouraged us to spend more than we were comfortable with. There was no upselling or sales pressure. Their focus was simply on honoring my father's memory and helping us create the service he would have wanted.
I would also like to recognize Pastor Don Cashwell, who did a wonderful job speaking at my father's graveside service. The funeral home also provided us with memorabilia in the form of book marks at the end of the service which meant a lot to us.

We couldn’t have asked for better service than we received at Poole’s Funeral Home in Knightdale. This is undoubtedly the worst time in my life as well as the worst for my step children. Poole’s made it an easier process than I ever imagined. Their kindness, support and understanding cannot be measured. They truly want to help grieving families. I can’t begin to express my appreciation for their kindness. Words are just not enough. Please, if you need funeral services consider Poole’s. You will not be disappointed.
Update: It's been over two weeks now and I still received another text checking on me. This is what kindness is all about. It's not about money or advertising because I already left a good review. It's about caring. Caring for people that suffer from the grief of a loved one. No business has EVER given me this kind of service. I know the founders of Poole's must have instilled this in their employees. They care. They really do!

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.

Are the funeral directors available at any time when needed?

What does embalming involve and why is it done?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body, allowing more time between death and final disposition to arrange services.
What options are available for final disposition of remains?
Burial in a casket or entombment are common, while cremation is increasingly selected for flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
