Formal Complaint Regarding Serious Health and Safety Concerns at Dixon KinderCare I am writing to formally document and express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding my grandson's experience with Dixon KinderCare which raises serious questions about the facility’s operational integrity, commitment to child safety, and overall hygiene practices. Prior to his first day of attendance, my daughter's account was prematurely charged without explanation or justification. While this was concerning, it pales in comparison to what followed shortly thereafter. Within two weeks of attendance, my grandbaby suffered two hematomas while under the care and supervision of Dixon KinderCare staff. When I inquired about the injuries, I was told they were “bug bites” and was informed that other children had also experienced similar “bites.” Given the severity and appearance of the hematomas, this explanation was not only medically implausible, but also dismissive of legitimate safety concerns. I requested that a formal and thorough investigation be conducted to determine the cause of my grandson' s injuries as diagnosed by the doctor. Despite this reasonable and necessary request, I received no follow-up, no incident report, and no meaningful communication whatsoever. The lack of transparency and failure to take appropriate investigative action is deeply troubling and, in my opinion, constitutes a serious breach of the duty of care expected from a licensed childcare provider. Further compounding my concern is the generally unsanitary condition of the facility. The floors are consistently dirty, and the overall cleanliness is far below acceptable standards for a childcare environment. It is no surprise, then, that a communication was recently distributed to parents acknowledging an outbreak of hand, foot, and mouth disease — a condition often associated with poor hygiene and inadequate sanitation. I strongly urge any grandparent/parent considering enrollment at this center to exercise extreme caution. Based on our experience, Dixon KinderCare has demonstrated a disturbing lack of accountability, inadequate safety protocols, and a failure to provide even the most basic standards of hygiene and communication. I love Dixon Kindercare. My son enjoys coming to Kindercare every single day and all the staff from administration to the teachers are very friendly and very much appreciated. We have been apart of the Dixon Kindercare family since 2013 and he is now in school age. I highly recommend Dixon Kindercare.

I can only speak for the infant room. The staff is caring and thoughtful. I feel very secure leaving my little one in their care.

When my first child started this daycare was great, loved the curriculum that they had and the staff made you feel like family. After my second child was born, I was excited for him to go to the same daycare because of my experience with my first child. Well lets just say a lot of things changed. The staff that had been there for years were leaving, new people were coming in and going. Communication started becoming less and less. One child was left outside for like an hour without the teachers even noticing they were not in the class room. My youngest son started having issues and director, Sharon, wanted to bring it to our attention once he was in the Preschool class. Her words were, since that class is different setting it is basically handled differently and my child has always had this behavior, but they have to think of safety issues. So she recommended that we keep a journal at home of his behavior and what he eats and they would do the same. Well lets just say, that a lie on their part. It took like a week for them to get a 3-ring binder put in his cubby and each day I was checking it, nothing. Since then only one thing was added to the notebook, way to communicate. Not long after that, the director stated I think that it is best if he did not come back. The issue that I have with this is she said that her and the assistant, Christina, wanted to try everything that they could to help my son; but their actions tell me something different. They tried less than a month and at the end of the day, it just seems like they gave up. If he was having issues before then, why was it not mentioned to us so that we could have started working on it at an earlier age instead of allowing it to continue until he got in a "Different Setting". There has been several times we have asked for homework be sent home with our child, but that happened one time. The other time we allowed the teacher to use the book I have at home to make copies, I guess to nothing with. If your main thing about a daycare is communication, this is not the place to enroll your child. Not a great daycare anymore and Corporate needs to come in and take a look at the people that are being hired and the ones operating the center. Something needs to change, before the place is closed down.
