They handled the receiving and burial of First Sergeant David D. Crouse with the utmost dignity, honor, and respect that a Soldier of his legacy truly deserves. First Sergeant Crouse faithfully served in the U.S. Army after initially enlisting in 1908 from Davidson County, North Carolina, and later re-entered active duty during World War II. After being captured on Bataan in 1942, he endured the hardships of being a prisoner of war and tragically passed away later that year in Cabanatuan POW Camp. His sacrifice is memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery and stands as a lasting testament to his courage and dedication to our nation. Cumby Funeral Home ensured that his story and sacrifice were honored with the highest level of care.
