We were initially very excited about Crème de la Crème. The facility is beautiful, and the program we were sold sounded exceptional: dedicated spaces for art, STEM, culinary activities, athletics, specialized teachers for art, STEM, music and Spanish, multiple outdoor play areas, and an enriched curriculum. The classroom teachers were genuinely wonderful. They were caring, attentive, and helped our daughter build meaningful relationships with both teachers and peers. Unfortunately, our experience changed once our daughter entered the toddler classrooms. The issue was never with her teachers. It was with management. Our daughter became the repeated victim of biting incidents. We understand that biting is a normal developmental behavior for toddlers, and we never expected it to be completely eliminated. Our concern was management's response. As the incidents became more frequent, including several that appeared unprovoked, we repeatedly asked what strategies were being implemented to address the behavior and protect the children involved. We were not seeking confidential information about other children, only an understanding of the plan. Those requests went unanswered for weeks. Attempts to discuss concerns in person were equally frustrating. Leadership frequently seemed unavailable, and it was difficult to get meaningful responses. After numerous requests for a documented remediation plan, the only explanation we received was that classroom visuals were being updated to reinforce positive behavior. That response felt inadequate given the severity and frequency of the incidents. Some bites broke the skin, some incidents were not documented, and our daughter became increasingly distressed about attending school. We later learned from other families that our experience was not unique. Multiple children were experiencing similar issues, and many parents shared concerns about poor communication from management. Another concern was the extremely high teacher turnover. While turnover is expected in childcare, the frequency seemed excessive. Several valued teachers left during our time there, including the music and Spanish teachers, yet families received little or no communication about these departures or how those parts of the curriculum would continue. We also discovered that many of the amenities heavily featured during enrollment, such as the gym and dance studio, were not regularly utilized by year-round students due to high child volume during summer camp programs and poor facility management. Considering the premium tuition, it was disappointing to learn that our daughter was not receiving the full experience we believed we were paying for. Most telling, we were one of four families who unenrolled from the toddler classrooms within roughly two months for very similar reasons. After submitting our unenrollment notice, the director never acknowledged it, never requested feedback, and never made any attempt to understand why we were leaving or what could have been been done differently. That lack of engagement perfectly summarized our experience with leadership. The teachers at this school deserve immense credit for the care they provide every day. Unfortunately, the same level of commitment was not reflected in the leadership team. A beautiful facility and strong teachers can only go so far when communication, transparency, and responsiveness from management are consistently lacking. We are now enrolled at a different childcare center in the area and the difference is night and day. Our daughter is thriving and we feel so much better about her early education experience.

My daughter transferred to the Chanhassen location from the Maple Grove one, and we've been very impressed with the Chanhassen center. If my daughter does something special in class, we get an email with pictures rather than just one weekly recap email that might have a picture of her. My daughter is also on an IEP and they have been very accommodating, allowing her teachers to test her and observe her play at daycare. She has truly blossomed at this school, and it's been so nice to have one consistent teacher with her the entire time she's been there (thanks Mia!). One thing I'd appreciate more is having the school offer up opportunities for parent involvement. I understand most parents who use child care work, but I love helping whenever I can. Overall, we're very pleased with the school itself, the teachers and staff, and everything my daughter learns when she's there.

The staff at CLA Chanhassen is caring, friendly and accommodating. It's so fun when the kids share what they are learning at school and to hear them talk about their friends and experiences. The best part about the school is that the kids rotate through rooms with different themes throughout the day. On any given day, they could visit the kitchen, the gym, bowling and a variety of other settings that keep things exciting and entertaining.
