My Mom did a Pre-Arrange Funeral Package with Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford, Mich. I am her Daughter and had to make funeral arrangements after Mom passed in March.
From the first phone call to Alex Garcia it was a very great experience- such compassion and sincereness in wanting to help with what Mom wanted and also requested changes beforehand. The communication was impressive- very business like with warmth and care.
Trish was our Funeral Director- such a compassionate lady!! She had everything organized and stress free to me on my end- which was important as I was the solo one in my family taking care of everything- I commend her for this and the care she showed throughout this whole process , even at the graveside Trish and Alex showed professionalism, warmth and care to our guests there at the cemetery.
This is a top notch funeral home!!! From the minute you walk in the front door it’s a pleasant calming experience!!!!! I give you a 5 Star rating , our Family thanks you for everything!!!! God Bless you all!!!!!

My brother and I used Pederson's at the recommendation of extended family after their positive experience and reasonable pricing. We worked with Trish during the planning process of our dad's viewing, service, and cremation. She took her time to explain and walk us through everything while also answering all of our questions. The day of my dad's service we worked with Brad & Tim. The whole team was compassionate and responsive to our needs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pederson Funeral Home
What do I do when a death occurs while out of town or away from home?
It’s important that you contact the local medical authorities first (as well as the police, if appropriate), and then make sure to give us a call as soon as possible. We will work with you to make the necessary arrangements to get you and your loved one back home as quickly and easily as possible. Calling us will also help you to avoid duplication of efforts and fees
Can I personalize my service?
Absolutely! Our staff has years of experience getting to know families and incorporating their loved one’s hobbies, activities, interests, and unique requests into meaningful and memorable services. Don’t hesitate to make a request because you think it might be too “out there” — we’re honored to work with you to create a service that truly reflects and celebrates your loved one’s individual life journey.
Can I still have viewing and funeral services with cremation?
Definitely! In fact, we encourage you to do so. Choosing cremation only indicates how you’d like to care for your loved one after the service and doesn’t exclude you from celebrating and honoring their life in any way. Whether you’d like to arrange a funeral service before cremation, or wait and hold the service after the cremation, we’re happy to help you design a meaningful service to accompany the cremation.
How long does the cremation process take?
This will vary depending on the individual and the casket or container used, but usually takes about 3-5 hours.
What is the purpose of embalming?
In many cases, if you choose to have a viewing before cremation, embalming may be required. Embalming is a process used to sanitize and temporarily preserve the body of a person who has passed away. It also can enhance the appearance of a person that has suffered damage from an accident or illness. By preserving the body through embalming, we can give you and your family time to make personalized and meaningful arrangements.
What is a columbarium?
A columbarium is a place for the interment of urns containing cremated remains. They’re often located in mausoleums, chapels, or memorial gardens, and contain numerous small compartments, or niches, designed to hold urns.
Why should I consider pre-planning of my funeral arrangements or the pre-plannong of a loved one?
Preplanning lets you create your own unique life celebration. Including your family in the planning process can help them feel connected to you both in life and in death, knowing that your arrangements reflect your desires. Preplanning relieves your family of that burden and gives them more time and energy to focus on healing and remembrance
