  I’m so happy we found Waltonwood for my Dad. It’s exactly what we were hoping for. The rooms and facilities are warm and comfortable. His neighboring residents are kind and generous. And most importantly, the staff are genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of all the residents and take great care to make them safe and treat them with respect.

  Finding the right place for a family member is never easy. I am profoundly grateful to Waltonwood University for the extraordinary care, patience, and dignity they provided to my brother. My brother moved into the Independent Living community 4 years ago. The staff went above and beyond respecting my brother's independence while ensuring his safety. Brennan demonstrated great patience and empathy when the need to make a move to assisted living was long overdue. The eventual transition to Assisted Living was seamless under Amber's nursing expertise. The staff handled my brother's challenging moments with unmatched professionalism and grace. They instinctively supported my brother with respect and dignity. In his final days, the facility partnered beautifully with Oakland Hospice. The staff ensured my brother was comfortable, peaceful and surrounded by kindness. Their support for me and my family member will never be forgotten. If you are looking for a community that truly honors its residents through every stage of aging, I cannot recommend Waltonwood University highly enough.

  Waltonwood staff members arranged an outing last evening at the UWM Field, formerly Jimmy John's Field in Utica for my 99-year-old father who is a WWII Navy Veteran. UWM was celebrating Veterans Day and Waltonwood arranged a private room for the family to celebrate with dad. There was food, drink and, of course, a baseball game. In the middle of the second inning, they wheeled dad out to the field, where he received a standing ovation honoring his service. This was a wonderful experience for all of us. Thanks to Donna, Zac and Amber for arranging this outing and for taking excellent care of dad, who is in their Rochester Hills University Assisted Living facility under hospice care. They honored dad and made him feel very special. The family gathered and created wonderful memories that night. Waltonwood arranged outings for 4 residents each year, based on their interests. For dad, it was baseball. Others choose to go to a play or concert. This is a beautiful way to honor and respect the lives of their residents.

  So glad we chose this place for my mom! She is doing much better than living alone, she’s made friends and there are always things to do. She especially loves the entertainment and Donna has done an amazing job organizing events. Every staff member I have met has been wonderful to me but more importantly to my mom, they really do care about her. They are always professional, kind and respectful. The building having gone through a renovation is gorgeous and very clean. My mom is somewhat picky (and basic) with her food choices but has said the food is very good. Again, so happy with our decision, I have peace knowing how well my mom is cared for.

  My mother is a resident in Assisted-living at Waltonwood University. Recently, she was chosen to be the recipient of a "Waltonwood Adventure by Waltonwood". This is a company-sponsored, personalized, life enrichment offering which provides a unique and meaningful experience to the resident. Donna D., the wonderful Assisted-living Life Enrichment Manager, talked to my mother and discovered that she is a huge Elvis fan. My mom never was able to see him live when she was a young mother and always wished that she had. Donna discovered that there was an Elvis Tribute Artist coming to the Roxie in Downtown Rochester. She made all the arrangements and my mother, myself and my daughter were treated to a wonderful day of Elvis songs, comedy and a lovely brunch! My mother met with the performer after the show for the "photo op". She was all smiles and told her friends all about it! Thank-you to Donna and Waltonwood University for this wonderful experience. My mother was glowing for weeks!
