- AMAlyssa MillerAug 3, 20261.0Over the past year, the quality of care and resident activities has gone downhill. Activities that residents once looked forward to are now frequently canceled. The explanation we’ve been given is that the Activity Director is new and doesn’t have experience. While everyone deserves a chance to learn, the residents shouldn’t have to miss out on meaningful activities because of it. If someone isn’t prepared for the role, StoryPoint should ensure the position is filled by someone who can provide the level of engagement residents deserve. My mom’s medications are often late, she’s been left in her room for hours at a time, and she’s even missed meals. Meanwhile, rent continues to increase, yet the quality of care and programming continues to decline. We miss the themed happy hours, games, special events, and the fun atmosphere that once made this community feel welcoming. Residents in memory care especially benefit from consistent, engaging activities, and it’s heartbreaking to see them disappear. I truly hope StoryPoint takes these concerns seriously, listens to residents and families, and brings back the quality of care, activities, and sense of community that this place once had.
