Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes but is not limited to the following: staff to respond to initial request for services, arrangement conference with family or responsible party; consultation with family and clergy; arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary notices, authorizations and consents; coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, secretarial and administrative costs and equipment and inventory expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremation, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving of remains)

Within a radius of 40 miles or an additional charge of $2.00 per mile one way will be added.

The funeral home staff provides for the temporary preservation of the deceased. Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. It is the policy of Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home that any time there is a public viewing of the body, embalming is required. We also require embalming for private viewing if the viewing occurs past 48 hours from the time of death or if a post-mortem exam including an autopsy or Gift of Life procedure has been performed.

Services provided may include (when necessary), but not limited to the following: washing, disinfection, manicuring, restoration, cosmetology, dressing, casketing and necessary daily care.
