Matrix Human Services (Matrix), a 501 (C) (3) agency, was founded in 1906 by a small and generous group of women who recognized the importance of helping the less fortunate who migrated to Detroit seeking a new life and finding them in an unfamiliar environment. The agency operates out 56 locations in Detroit and 9 locations in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Matrix serves 25,000 Detroit residents annually through programs providing a continuum of over 60 direct services to pregnant women, children, youth, adults and seniors.
The Matrix Center (est. 1997) is a community hub offering Detroit residents numerous onsite services and activities through the collaboration and/or onsite presence of more than 150 mission partner organizations.
