  So grateful for the time and understanding offered by Heather Lavonte on the phone today. She helped me to understand how things work in the various systems of caregiving, and we were able to find a solution to my concern for my family member in need.

  My caseworker is late. Again. No update or communication office closed. Last year I requested assistance for stressful situation. Caseworker arrived, spent an hour on intake, assuring me assistance in a timely manner. Then she went on vacation and no one seemed to know about my issue. When she returned I was told "that's not what we do..." along with a snarky and unprofessional email. Don't use this service they are useless. Update May 27, 2026 A few hours after being stood up, my former caseworker emailed to inform me that she has left the organization. No apologies. HVES still has not returned any of my calls. When I called yesterday, the secretary informed me that my caseworker "retired" and it may be weeks before I have a new caseworker. When I was connected with the supervisor, it was voicemail once again. I am thoroughly disgusted.

  Absolutely horrible experience. I have been trying to get a home health aide for my mother since she was discharged from Hospice in late January. Highland Valley did an in-home nursing assessment in February. They sent out the referral for prospective providers. Highland Valley claims they cannot find anybody. I found a provider on my own time and effort. I have requested Highland Valley to send the authorization to the provider (Excel Nursing Services) so that care can begin. Multiple calls to multiple staff members have not been returned. No one ever picks up the phone directly. I am contemplating a Medicare Fraud complaint with MA Attorney General's office

  Taking caring of seniors is one of the hardest jobs for a family. But with places like Highland Valley Elder Services the burden is definitely lessened. I don’t know what we would do without their help!
