Nursing Home
Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center is a 123 bed nursing facility providing long term skilled care and short term rehab services. Holden Rehab is newly renovated and is now home to Wachusett Respiratory Care Unit and Oriol Therapy Services. Established in 1964 as Holden Nursing Home, our facility has grown to accommodate many needs with state of the art equipment and mostly private accommodations.
Within our new building there are three distinct neighborhoods; short stay, long term and Wachusett Respiratory Care Unit. Each neighborhood has an activity area, family meeting spaces, outdoor courtyards and dining areas with country kitchens. The Town Square is home to our Hair Salon, Consultation Office, and Coffee Shop.

- GAGinger AndersonAug 15, 20265.0This past July I was taken to Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center for a week following hospitalization for pneumonia. Having never been to a rehab center I didn't know what to expect but my stay there was beyond anything I thought it would be. The entire staff was fantastic going beyond just doing their job; they did so in a caring and experienced manner. On top of this, the surroundings were lovely and interiors were well appointed making the time there that much more pleasant than what I could have imagined. Hoping that I'll never have the need for rehab again but if I do I know what my choice will be.

While the individuals we met there were all very nice, the staff seemed overworked, there were not enough people on the floor, my phone calls were not returned, and our eventual discharge was handled poorly. The patient is not dead (yet) but the outcome was catastrophic. This place needs MORE FLOOR STAFF, MORE COORDINATION, and BETTER COMMUNICATION WITH FAMILY FROM DAY ONE. Also they need to pay attention to covid precautions, which they are clearly NOT doing. My relative got covid there and it contributed to his precipitous decline. Had it been more clearcut I would be suing by now.
