The best decision in our childcare was sending our baby to Herr Lane Kindercare.
Ms. Val is a wonderful director and leader. She and Ms. Mary Kate have been so helpful and accommodating to all our questions along the way. You can tell they truly care for each child and enjoy their work.
The teachers are all so wonderful. My husband and I looked forward to seeing them each day and so did our son. He formed true connections to them. Our son required a little extra individualized care during the day, and the staff handled it with so much patience, attentiveness, and compassion. Knowing he was in such capable hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. We cannot thank you enough - Ms. Chris, Ms. Nabila, Ms. Mahsa, Ms. Juanita.
- Communicate on the app was excellent – so easy to reach out and get prompt responses.
- Facility is clean and did not have any harsh odors.
- Location is very safe and secure, never had any concerns.
- Teachers did a great job diapering and feeding.
The entire staff showed our child the best care and we will forever be grateful. Dropping a new baby off at daycare is so hard for parents, Herr Lane Kindercare made it easier on us knowing he was with people that truly love and care about him.

The reasons behind my critical rating for this Kindercare center are many. There were minor annoyances such as the extremely liberal use of baby wipes and deliberately teaching my child to say "wah-wah" rather than water (it took us about two months to break this habit). Then there were the mid-level issues such as losing my child's clothing and one of the employees offering an inappropriate level of input into the decisions I make for my child. We had socks, jackets and even a pair of shoes that were lost and never found over the course of the year my child attended the facility. As to the questioning of my parenting, one of the classroom teachers felt that my little boy's hair was too long and continually pestered me and made up stories about him complaining to her in an attempt to get me to style his hair in a way that she felt was appropriate (he's 24 lbs and it was a cold winter, I'll let his hair grow longer to better insulate him). The higher level problems I had were around the lack of supervision and the complete absence of discipline in the classroom. When I would pick up my child, generally the teachers would be gathered together talking and paying little attention to what was happening with the kids. My child would come home with unnoticed bite marks and, while he was still in the toddler room, got a scratch so deep on his face that it has left a minor scar. The discipline that is provided is nothing more than talking to the child; timeout is apparently viewed as cruel. I continually told the teacher in my child's classroom that if he was bad to have him stand with his nose to the wall, but she refused to implement this punishment that works with my child. The last day my child was at the facility one of the employees told me "there are no bad children, just bad behavior" which is the most ignorant comment I heard from them - you don't have to teach a child to be selfish, push or hit, you have to teach them not to do those things. There were also major causes for concern that put my child's well being in danger. While playing outside on the playground the teachers would let my child stuff his mouth full of mulch on a continual basis and one day, when I picked him up, I had to remove a good handful from his mouth. The fact that he could choke on this, as well as the distinct unsanitary nature of this practice, was apparently lost on the employees. Finally, one day in January I received a phone call that my child had developed a fever of 101 and I was asked to come pick him up, but when I arrived to get him I found him outside on the playground laying face down in the dirt. There is absolutely no excuse for this level of abject carelessness and I honestly should have reported the center to the state as this is nothing short of neglect (I truly regret not doing so).
While not every employee at this facility is as wreckless as I have described here, the bad far outweighs the good (the assistant director, Cindy, as well as Marcy, Mia, Whitney and a couple others, whose names I simply can't remember, really are great - but they should honestly clean house beyond these few, including the facility director, Valentina). I have written a lot here, and I could honestly list a whole lot more but I feel that the justification for the poor rating I have given this facility has been sufficiently established. Raising complaints with Kindercare places you the persona non grata list (they treated my wife and I completely differently after a concern we raised) so these issues couldn't be addressed while my child still attended. Kindercare talks a good talk when you take a tour with them, but walking the walk is something quite different. I will never allow another child of mine to step foot into a Kindercare again, especially not this center. I should have removed my little boy months ago and for not doing so I am guilty, but it's my hope that others learn from my experience. For the safety of your child, stay far away from this facility until a major overhaul has been done.
