- LGLaura GraberAug 23, 20261.0Don’t sign up for swim lessons. Conditions are not right. I was super excited to sign my son up for baby swim lessons. Unfortunately, the pool that was advertised as heated was so cold that all the babies in the class screamed and fought to get out the whole time. My son’s lips turned blue in a matter of minutes. When I reached out to Jack Jones, the aquatics director, he confirmed to me that the facility is malfunctioning. The HVAC is pumping too much cold air into the pool area. By this time we had attended half of the lessons hoping it would get warmer and did not want to continue until the issue was fixed. When I asked for a refund or to have lessons rescheduled to a session when the water would be warm enough, Jack Jones ghosted. Stopped responding all together. I am so disappointed. Waste of money, since the pool was so cold, my son didn’t get to participate. My 1 year old son spent the whole of the few lessons we roughed our way through crying because it was so cold.

Do you offer after-school care?
Yes! The YMCA of Central Kentucky’s Before and After School program provides youth with a safe place to go before or after the bell. More importantly, it helps youth realize who they are and what they can achieve. The balanced program supports academic achievement, fosters health and wellness, and instills positive social-emotional skills. Care is provided onsite at schools or children are transported to the Y. Program runs from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. unless noted.

Our swimming programs are led by trained instructors who are certified in CPR and First Aid in addition to their formal swim instructor training.
