Coming here, meeting with other saints, speaking of Christ and taking the emblems of the sacrament gives me the strength I need to face the challenges of another week. Everyone is genuinely concerned about one another, especially the Bishop and his counselors. There's no mistake about it because they don't get paid a dime for the work they do- they have full time jobs outside of their church ministries. There is no paid ministry- everyone volunteers their time and talents in every aspect from Sunday school, to teaching the children, and even giving sermons; all are motivated by love for God and each other- not by money. There is no plate passing either, and no financial expectation for anyone who wants to join the meetings because no one is concerned about paying their bills through church revenue- everyone really just wants to help each other and build the Kingdom of God! This is the most Biblical church you will find anywhere- Jesus Christ is the head and speaks through a living prophet. There are 12 apostles who minister to the members and teach us the will of the Lord. We are taught from the Bible and its companion scripture the Book of Mormon that complements and amplifies the message of the Bible about Jesus. Full time missionaries are always on hand to teach more- they don't debate you into believing, but they simply invite you to ask God what the right choices are concerning your faith and guide you through that process. Come and see for yourself! Everyone is welcome. Come as you are, but just so you know members of the congregation will typically wear a dress shirt (usually white) with a tie for men and women wear a dress or a skirt with a blouse. The attire worn here reflects modesty, respect for the Lord, and an outward sign of our inward commitment to give our best to God. I love it here and couldn't imagine myself going anywhere else!
