I am writing to express concern about the safety of children at Kinder Care, located at 3199 Custer Drive, Lexington, KY. At approximately 10:45 am, I witnessed four toddlers, aged 2-4, unsupervised in the road. The teacher appeared distracted despite having a large class outside. I am alarmed that the facility's fences, equipped with locks to prevent escape, were ineffective. I immediately contacted the school and law enforcement. I urge parents who entrust their children to this daycare to reconsider, as this incident highlights a disturbing lapse in supervision. The children's safety was compromised, and they were at risk of being struck by an oncoming truck that I had to stop. I implore parents to be vigilant and ensure their children's well-being. My children attended for a little over a year and a half and we were very pleased. My 4 year old enjoyed her classes and made many friends, and I could tell they were taking her pre-school education seriously and giving her good learning activities to do. My school-age son also had a generally positive experience. Whenever we had any problems they were quickly addressed, and with the pandemic, center director Pam went above and beyond to make sure our son was well cared for and had the help he needed for remote learning. They communicated quickly and clearly about pandemic-related center closures and policies. I highly recommend this place.

We left. I had multiple issues #1--they kept taking her nice clothes, #2, they kept messing up my acct, #3, although the state was covering full tuition, they charge an additional $40/week for specific cases/situations, #4, my FULLY potty trained child started having multiple accidents during the week and they were sending her home in pullups, #5, discipline policy for aggressive and hitting children is a joke (i literally saw a child hit another child in the head, the teacher told the hitter to go in timeout while the child that was hit told the hitter 'Don't hit me. I don't like that.' The kid laughed and sat in timeout for all of 10 seconds before roaming around the classroom without consequence.) and #6, incidence reporting policy is inconsistent (my child was bitten by another and even had a visible bite mark on her. When I mentioned to the teacher, she knew and said well the kid was agitating her. No incident report and no repercussion for the biter.)
