Over the years, I have played Taps at dozens of military funerals, and I have experienced a wide range of communication and coordination from funeral homes. I can honestly say that the professionalism and communication I experienced with Carlson were second to none. Their staff made sure I had clear, detailed instructions and put me directly in contact with the Active Duty Honor Guard so that everyone involved knew exactly what was expected. The military honors ceremony went smoothly and was conducted with the dignity and respect the family deserved. One thing I have learned through years of providing military honors is that funeral homes sometimes assume the musician or Honor Guard already knows all the details. But every funeral is different, and the family's wishes and the arrangements can vary considerably. With Carlson, there was absolutely no guesswork. They communicated everything clearly and thoroughly, with no ambiguity whatsoever. I was extremely impressed by the care, professionalism, and attention to detail shown by the entire Carlson staff.
