  I would highly recommend St. Charles Memorial Works for any type of memorial for your loved one. I was referred to them after I posted on Next Door seeking other's experiences after a much less than satisfactory experience with cemetery personnel. The person there attempted to price gouge me, and it was apparent that the individual was ill-prepared to perform sales duties and could not even answer simple questions about their product and procedures. Thankfully I was referred to St. Charles Memorial Works, and although I had been referred to Chase Carlson, the 4th generation, I ended up working with Chase's father, Christian Carlson. From our initial meeting, it was very clear that Christian knew the business. It took me a while after my husband's passing to decide on what type of memorial I wanted for him. I had probably 65% of the concept worked out. Christian was able to fill in the blanks to achieve the total concept. He was responsive and patient. The memorial was not something run of the mill, not cookie cutter, it was definitely customized to what I wanted to accomplish. The pricing was extremely fair. Christian also helped me get the marker installed. Initially the cemetery salesperson told both of us that the cemetery did not allow outside personnel to install markers, that I would have to pay the cemetery an inflated amount (including many junk fees along the way,) to get the marker installed. Many conversations later, she admitted that it was allowed for outside companies to do the installation. I literally got to the point that I was ready to disinter my husband and move him elsewhere, because this woman was such a nightmare to deal with. With Christian's assistance the marker was finally installed, although I did have to wait until May to get it done when it could have easily been done in October if the salesperson at the cemetery had just done their job - let me be clear, this was no fault of St. Charles Memorial Works. So although the entire process took many months, the end result is something I am extremely happy with. I have no reservations whatsoever recommending this company. Thank you, Christian.
