  If I could give this place a zero star I would but I’ll just leave you with my overall experience and treatment of my children at this particular daycare facility. My six-year-old son was the only African American child in his school-aged classroom, and he has been repeatedly targeted, isolated, and discriminated against by both staff and other children. The specific incidents include: - Verbal Harassment: Other children have repeatedly made racist remarks to my son, including telling him that he is "the color of poop" and that no one wants to play with him because he is brown. - Staff Misconduct and Aggression: A teacher, Miss Tessa, has repeatedly engaged in age-inappropriate arguments with my son. Furthermore, she physically touched him in an aggressive manner to remove him from the room. - Retaliation and Neglect: When my son attempted to report these racist incidents, Miss Tessa threatened to send him to the office and later denied that he had ever reported anything to her. Additionally, the facility has overlooked incidents where my son was intentionally injured by another child, resulting in a medical visit to urgent care. The daycare does not have cameras to record these events. When I requested a meeting with the teacher to address the aggressive physical contact and the unfair write-ups, the administrative director intercepted the request. Instead of addressing the teacher's behavior or the ongoing discrimination, the administration presented me with a "behavior plan" for me to sign. I refused to sign this agreement, as it appears to be an attempt to shift accountability onto my child and paint him as the problem, rather than addressing the trauma and hostility he is experiencing. Despite my son explicitly stating that he does not feel safe, this teacher continues to work with his classroom, and no corrective action has been taken against the staff or the children involved. There have been no incident reports written to even address that this incident happened. There have been prior incidents of covering up another incident involving a staff member and her children to protect the staff member who is also employed there. They have delayed reporting incidents to DCFS and to myself as the parent. I would not be notified when incidents would occur. Sometimes I would not find out days later that my child was involved in an incident or did I receive an incident report. Some occasions I would receive an incident report and it would be from someone who did not witness the incident writing the report. Excessive incident reports and stories have been embellished against my child. Prior to these current situations I had a phone conference with the CEO and I was assured that they would move forward and handle things professionally in regards to my children. I was told that, If I needed anything, feel free to reach out but it doesn't seem as if this daycare wants to do what is in the best interest of my child. They want to make sure they shift the blame in another direction to make it seem as if they tried to meet the needs of my child and cannot do so after presenting me with the behavior plan after all the things have occurred that they're at fault for. I made a complaint to DCFS also and have reported many things and have not heard anything about the complaints. I have tried to advocate and be nice and rectify situations without having to escalate them to this point. I have done all I can and as my child mother it is my job to make sure my child is protected and taken care of. I have done that I trusted this facility to care for my children, and I am deeply disappointed and deeply concerned for their safety. I believe the community, particularly Black families, needs to be made aware of how this establishment operates.

  We absolutely love lighthouse!!! Since moving to the area, we tried another place prior and it fell short. We heard about lighthouse from a friend whose kids go here and decided to meet them and see the facility. After meeting Jen, we realized how awesome, and on top of things she is! When we toured we met Jessica, and we immediately felt like this was the place for our daughter. Now, 6 months later, we are so happy to have our child attend here at lighthouse. They are very attentive, great at communication, and we know she is very happy! Shootout again to Jessica, our daughter’s teacher who is the absolute best! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!! We also are grateful to the other teachers who spend time with our daughter also! Erica, Sabrina, & Emmy are all so great with her, and we really appreciate everything they do!

  Lighthouse Academy has hands down been the best decision for our daughters! We started with them shortly after they opened in January of 2025 and could not be happier with the care and support our daughters have both received. Every teacher is so easy to talk to and supportive and truly works with parents to meet each child's needs. They treat your children like family and have also encouraged me as a mom - (we all have our days!). They are responsive and caring with any questions or concerns that may arise. They update the app regularly so that we can see what is going on with the kiddos throughout the day. My oldest daughter recently graduated from their Pre-K program and we have to credit the amazing Miss Carly for how well she is now doing in kindergarten and how well prepared she was to start! Miss Carly always listened and was such a friendly face to start our morning with when we dropped our daughter off. She and my daughter formed such a great relationship and my daughter truly looked forward to being in her care every single day. We can't thank her enough for all of her hard work! My youngest daughter started with miss Jessica who is such a warm and inviting person. She was one of the first teachers we encountered at Lighthouse and I was so blown away by how much she cared for our daughter and how well she communicated with us parents. She truly cares about the kids and we were so lucky to start our Lighthouse journey with her! My daughter's current teachers are Miss Sabrina and Miss Ericka and they are both SO FANTASTIC! They have been so helpful in my daughter's current journey of potty training. They are so encouraging and responsive and my daughter loves them and talks about them every single night! We couldn't be more blessed with the amazing staff at Lighthouse!

  We love lighthouse academy! Their staff is attentive, engaging, and caring. Their team puts our family at ease knowing our little one is in the best hands. We adore Ms. Jesaica; her presence is so calming, her class engaging, and we are so thankful to have her as a teacher!
