  I had a dear friend here i used to visit and knew one of the housekeepers they had. I can absolutely tell you many terrifying facts about this place but I will only say a few. First, I want to mention the assistant director. The way I heard her scream at staff was so unprofessional, I watched a housekeeper cry as she was spoken to inhumanity. I was informed housekeeping staff was told "housekeeper can be replaced". This women also told a resident that because they were slow getting on a bus that she would be left behind. Many employees have left and from my information almost all said because of the assistant directors leadership. Please stop overlooking this women as she has crossed so many unethical line. I would never bring anyone i love to this facility until they clear out the upper management and start fresh. I recommend that you go anywhere else.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heartfelt Care and Extraordinary Staff Our family’s experience with Summit Pointe Senior Living in Marion, Iowa, has been exceptional! Several years ago, we had a very positive experience with my aunt and uncle staying here, so when we realized that Mom was no longer able to live at home by herself, we already knew Summit Pointe was the absolute best choice for her. Leaving her home was tough for Mom, but the entire team made the transition so much easier. The facility itself is always clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Mom spent time in both assisted living and memory care, and through every stage, the staff—especially the incredible Resident Assistants—went above and beyond! These wonderful women made some very sad, difficult days so much brighter and easier to navigate. They treated Mom with dignity, respect, and deep kindness every single day. Most importantly, she truly felt valued, safe, and loved. I cannot thank the team at Summit Pointe enough for the compassion and genuine care they showed my mom and our family.

  The river boat lunch cruise was awesome. Only negative was it was crowded. Food was great. Bus trip was very pleasant.

  My family member stays here, decent place but looks outdated, new maintenance man is very nice and experienced, overall a good place. NEW UPDATE EDIT: Summit Pointe Senior Living located in Marion, IA has been open for about 20 years, and almost nothing has been updated. Some of the rooms are still using 20 year old carpet and appliances. They do not care about your loved ones who are put here. The kitchen is in terrible condition, the floor is dirty, the ceiling tiles are grease stained, and the floor is just covered in grease. There are water stains in the ceiling tiles in the hallways, indicating pipe leaks, some water stains which are fresh and unrepaired for months at a time. The fixtures in the rooms are 20 years old, and falling apart, the lights are constantly flickering, and went unfixed for 3+ months. They claim to have a water softener, but my Aunt (who no longer lives there, thankfully) had a faucet which was completely corroded and would shoot out brown water for the first 3 minutes of turning it on. The hot water is VERY hot, but doesn't get hot for 5-10minutes+. The downstairs garage is dirty, there is garbage everywhere, damaged support beams, and dimly lit, there is NO love or care in this place. The management is ONLY here to make money, now of course making money is their goal, but it shouldn't be there only goal. They should and need to care about the people who pay good money to stay here. However some of the staff who work here are very nice and helpful, and are just doing their jobs. It does seem like the people who really care and want to help, keep leaving. After reading some of the negative reviews, at first I didn't believe them, but after my Aunt living here for 5+ years, I can confirm they are mostly true.
