Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.
A welcome respite of tranquility. There is a peace here on these grounds. Interesting displays. Be sure to walk all the way around the back to see the big banyan trees.

Beautiful temple! We loved the video they played in the visitors center that told more of the history of the Church of Jesus Christ on Hawaii and of the temple. Check out the interesting miniatures of the temple carvings in the courtyard by the family history center

This place is sacred ground ! Literally, not symbolically, not figuratively, literally. If you are in tune you can feel the spirit prompt you that you are on holy ground. The upkeep on the grounds is second to none. The visitors center is amazing with 3 movie rooms to show you little presentations about what is the central focus is here. It’s also clear by the huge Christ statue in the center, ask for a free tour. And they have pamphlets and a presentation, and the water features are beautiful. Which you can tell is 100% different than the byodo-in Buddhist temple down in Honolulu. You can tell the difference between pagan and Christianity at its finest, you can ask a ton of questions to the sister missionaries. And the senior couple missionaries. They can help you understand why they believe in temples. And what scriptures talk about temples. And what they do in the temples. .. I go a lot and they know me by name now… great conversations
