  I have been using their respite care services for my father for almost six months now. I have an unconventional work schedule and the staff/administration have been wonderfully accommodating. My father stays at the facility monthly. They make arrangements to make sure that my father is in the same respite room to avoid any confusion for him. The room is clean, bright and furnished. The staff makes sure he has everything that he needs and they keep me updated via calls/text/emails. The activities are wonderful and my dad has a great routine while there. One of my favorites is "You Be the Judge" where a staff member dresses up in Victorian Judge garb but he looks more like George Washington :-) He reads real life cases and allowed the residents to decide what should be done. Other activities that I am excited to attend are "Beer and Bunt Toast" cold beer, questionable toast and great conversations or the "Under Water Basket Weaving"--bring your own snorkel lol. My dad has the cafeteria hours memorized :-) It has been difficult to get him to eat anything at home but when he's at the Regency sometimes he is first in line. I really truly appreciate the staff and the administrators. I don't know how I would manage if this facility was not available.

  I am so pleased that we chose the Regency for assisted living for my husband. Everyone from administration to wait staff cares about the residents. It shows in their compassion, kindness and dedication to the well being of all that live there.

  My father was a resident of Regency at Hualalai for close to 2 years. The exceptional care he received truly enriched and lengthened his life. He started in a private 1 bedroom apartment in Assisted Living, and recently was moved to Memory Care where he passed away at 92 years old. I can't say enough positive things about his interaction with staff, as well as our family's interaction with staff. We were always treated with dignity, respect and empathy. Regency schedules fun themed monthly events and family get togethers that kept the residents engaged, and gave family an opportunity to join in the fun. The wellness office provided Dad and our family with regular updates and care. If you are considering a caring facility for you or a loved one, please contact Regency today and schedule a tour.

  I would not recommend this assisted living facility to anyone looking for safe, attentive care for their loved one. From the beginning, there was a lack of professionalism and poor communication. We were assured that our family member’s needs could be managed, yet within days it became clear that the staff was unprepared and unable to properly handle even routine behavioral and medical concerns. Instead of working collaboratively to adjust care or keep us informed, decisions were made abruptly and without adequate explanation. We often had to initiate communication ourselves to find out what was happening. That is unacceptable when you are trusting people with the care of someone vulnerable. The level of oversight and competence did not match what was promised. Families deserve transparency, compassion, and qualified care — not excuses and reactive decision-making. Choosing assisted living is already an emotional and difficult process and especially being on the other side of the US. This experience added unnecessary stress during a time when we needed reassurance and professionalism. Sadly, our experience did not reflect those standards. I strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions, document everything, and carefully evaluate other options before committing to this facility.

  Staff was very friendly and professional. Chef came out to meet us. Amenities were better than we thought. Very impressed!
