Our family have been Impact Health Sharing members for 2 1/2 years (since December 2022). I am from Dutchess County, New York. Impact has been tremendous for my family. I went from paying $1,760 per month for traditional medical insurance to $628 monthly. I also went from having a $3,000 per person deductible with my old insurance to a $2,500 Primary Responsibility Amount for my HOUSEHOLD. This alone has saved us over $12,000 per year. Through the Referenced-Base Repricing Program, Impact has lowered our bills by over $30,000. The community has shared in just under $17,000 of those bills. My out of pocket expense has been a little over $6,000 over the past 30 months which has covered 4 family members. We have used our coverage for annual physicals, bloodwork, emergency room visits, urgent care, one surgery, and with telemedicine / online video doctor calls. Truly a blessing for us!

Impact Health Sharing has been a positive change for me. I am an insurance salesperson and I love how they communicate their guidelines so you know what to expect. Also access to the portal has helped me take better control of my coverage.

I was priced out of traditional health insurance and the out of pocket expense was also just too high. Then in 2022 Impact Health Sharing was introduced to me. Thank god I’ve been pretty healthy but, the unfortunate few times I had an emergency Impact was right by my side!! What an amazing job they’ve done with the repricing of medical bills. Would you believe I got a medical bill for $9,303 and they repriced it to $42.81 🙌🏻🤯 absolutely blown away!! Thank you Impact health sharing!!

There is a lot to say to fully explain but I will try to be brief. I assume for basic doctor appointments this system may work. We had one or two of those such appointments that basically went "ok". But...should you require a hosptial stay, such as my daughter did, this is where the system breaks down. When you go to a hospital you will get bills from roughly 8 different companies (hospital, anesthesia, radiology, radiologist, neurology, specific doctor bills, etc. etc). You can not just submit it all and let Impact sort it out. Now, Impact can respond to all these reviews by saying "oh I'm so sorry please contact us and we will personally work this out for you", but that's a load of crap. I spent countless hours on the phone with them and they were never helpful. Their response was alway "you have to contact each individual provider and have them give you a UB04 form and then submit every one for every date of service". Well, I can tell you hospitals don't do this regularly in that format, with all the other information that Impact requires to also be on the form. I spoke with billing agent after billing and every one said they never have to do all this and many didn't even know how to. One in particular I spent an hour with on the phone as she tried different things. Countless hours spent doing this. Ultimately, I gathered everything possible and submitted to Impact, and about half were denied. Why? Who knows, Impact sure didn't know and couldn't explain to me why. And before Impact replies saying "oh you should have called us", yeah I did, and no help. The ONLY good thing about Impact is they negotiate down the cost of the services. But...I've been in healthcare a long time and I could have negotiated that down myself without their help. I needed them to cover what they said they would, and they didn't. At the end of the day I never got a penny back from Impact. And to the best of my calculations they owe me around $10k. Yes, the hospital visit was around $100k, they talked it down to about $45k. I paid a ton out of pocket to meet all shared amounts, Impact should have kicked in the rest. As many other reviews have said, they purposefully make it so complicated that eventuallly you give up, which is what I did. I didn't even submit the last few doctor visit bills. I have since moved on to a different health sharing group and it is so straight forward, you submit a standard bill, and they pay you back once your shared amounts are met. It's as easy as can be. Impact was a waste of two years and a ton of money. I can't wait to read whatever crap they respond with trying to justify this.

I used to be a member as well as a preferred provider with Impact. I ended up discontinuing both. Being a member was nice to save on monthly Healthcare, but unfortunately very few clinics would accept it as coverage and I ended up paying more in out of pocket costs than I would have through another insurance. Each time I had a question and would call, customer service was very nice, but sometimes I would get told different things in regards to what I needed to complete. I spent so much time on the phone calling Impact and the clinic, that it was not worth my time. One bill I got took about a year to complete. Impact and the clinic were going back and forth on what I owed, I would call each, pay what Impact told me to pay, and then another bill from the same date/service would come. I ended up paying about $100 less than the original bill, but spent hours on the phone. I realized that is not all Impact, but regardless, it was not worth it in the end and I ended up going back on my husband's insurance. Being a provider (with a signed contract I should add) was a NIGHTMARE. It took me over a year to get the contract, so I should have known. I never received an online login for the provider portal as I should have, despite requesting multiple times. They have yet to pay me for almost 2/3 of the services rendered, most completed over a year ago. I have faxed multiple times AND snail mailed all notes and they still say they have not received it. I have heard similar experiences from other providers, but they were not preferred providers with them. If you never go to the doctor this would be good to save on monthly costs. I would definitely not recommend being a provider with them or accepting a patient with this, as you will likely not be reimbursed.
