Children's Village is a trusted early learning center serving families in Wolcott. We care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years through play-based programs that support social-emotional growth, school readiness, and strong family partnerships. Families choose us for our warm teachers, safe environment, and joyful classrooms.
It’s affordable with average daycare hours, the location is convenient (mostly isolated) so no worries about traffic (except for the parents that lack common decency to not block the road).
The downfall is the parking lot itself, which is a flat tire waiting to happen. In the winter, there is little to no salt or shoveling so there’s a risk there too.
The biggest issue is the lack of accountability. No matter what issue you bring up, the only one addressing it is the assistant director. I guess the actual director is too busy elsewhere to do her job properly, including taking off holidays her staff can’t even get off.
The preschool rooms in the basement are filthy, reek of garbage and poop all day and are completely unorganized. The teachers down there seem miserable themselves and some kids are left to their own chaos. My child was sent home soaked in piss on multiple occasions.
There’s no direction and programs promised often never happen because lack of effort (on their part) and funding (on their part as well because fundraisers exist and they never try to do them).
The hours they give to staff must be awful like a fast food restaurant because half of them are absent on a weekly basis. You’ll see subs more than the head teachers.
Overall, if you need a daycare with a decent sized playground and cheaper prices (average at $800 a month) then this is your place. Otherwise, do your research.

They have quite literally been my “village”. I wouldn’t trust my kids anywhere else, especially with the things they have been going on lately. This is my babies second home. I don’t know how I would do it without all the staff here!

I was walking by this childcare center recently ( Children’s village) and felt compelled to leave a review. I don’t have any personal connection to the center, but I witnessed one of the teachers interacting with the children, and it genuinely stood out. I later found out that her name is Jayline!
She was incredibly kind, patient, and gentle—speaking to the kids with so much warmth and care. You could tell Jayline truly enjoys what she does and creates a safe, nurturing environment for them. The children seemed happy, engaged, and comfortable, which says a lot.
Even from the outside looking in, this center seems like a wonderful place for kids, and that teacher made a lasting impression. Just wanted to share that moment because it was really heartwarming to see.

We absolutely love Children’s Village! My older daughter attended for preschool, and now my younger daughter is currently enrolled. She started there as an infant. We’ve had such a wonderful experience over the years.
The teachers are truly amazing! They are caring, attentive, and great at communicating. We always feel informed about what’s going on and confident that our children are in good hands. The administration has also been fantastic. They genuinely listen to any concerns or needs for our children and take action when needed, which gives us so much peace of mind as parents.
We’re so grateful to be part of the Children’s Village community and highly recommend them to any family looking for a nurturing, supportive environment for their children!

I have had such a wonderful experience with this daycare. From the very beginning, they made me feel completely secure and confident leaving my son in their care, which means everything as a parent. My son absolutely loves going there and is always happy and comfortable, which speaks volumes.
He has been attending for a little over a year now, and throughout that time the teachers have been nothing but amazing—kind, patient, and truly caring. What really stands out to me is how every teacher knows all of the children, not just the ones in their classroom. It’s so obvious how much they genuinely care about and love each child.
I’m beyond grateful for the safe, loving, and nurturing environment they provide every day. I couldn’t have asked for a better place for my son.
