While nothing in life is perfect, the staff are willing to listen and do better when things are brought to their attention.

Easy to locate; Nice grounds and interior fresh and rooms large enough and not to large to have residents feel comfortable in their home. Receptionist very nice and helpful.

I’ve been a resident of Hebrew health and rehab since 8/1 after being discharged from inpatient bospital stay. I chose to do my short term rehab here because of a reputation HH had for being a top rated facility and have been disappointed beyond my imagination by sub-par care and the management of my care. The food is awful and there’s not one tray out of 5 that come with a I ordered; even missing the entree. But my real disappointment; now more anger as well has been the foul up with Mr pain meds; not receiving them when I was supposed to; sometimes hours past when I should have received but the last 24 hours have been the worst. I was supposed to get my pain med at 1:00 am today but they told me they didn’t have it available so they substituted another one. At 5:00 am I was due for another and they said they’d have to use the same one substituted at 1:00 am but then quickly said that wasn’t available either. My last pain med at 1:00 am and it wasn’t until 11:10 am that they finally gave me a pain med and this time it was another substitution. I wouldn’t be on the pain management regimen I’m on if my pain were not substantial so going 11 hours without a med was torture. When I finally had relief I was able to still have my PT and OT sessions and we did

My experience with Hebrew Rehabilitation was heartbreaking and disappointing. As my mother’s conservator and advocate, I expected compassion, communication, and dignity for my mother who has advanced Dementia. I once unexpectedly visited and found my mother lying in bed wearing only a Johnny gown with her underwear exposed. Her dinner tray was still covered and sitting by her bedside.I had to help get my mother dressed in the clothing I provided and asked staff to warm her meal. Seeing her in that condition was devastating. My mother was later transferred to the CT Behavioral Health Center due to concerns about her being “aggressive” and refusing medications. I expressed my concerns that she may have felt unsafe and that her behaviors needed to be understood. When I shared this with Joseline, the unit nurse for the rehab and memory care units, I felt dismissed and that the response was argumentative rather than compassionate. I was also told that after 14 days in the geriatric psych unit, my mother would be able to return to her previous unit. Later, I was told Hebrew would not take her back because there was no available bed, which I later learned was not accurate. Families trusting a facility with their loved ones deserve honesty, respect, and compassionate care.Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that my mother’s dignity and needs were not prioritized.
